Lead Product Marketing Manager

Chicago, IL 60607, United States; San Francisco, CA 94158, United States
Schedule: FT
Job Type: Hybrid
Salary Type: Salary
Req #: 1919

About the Role

As one of the largest carrier networks in the transportation industry, Uber Freight’s carrier marketplace helps carriers of all sizes—from owner-operators to large fleets—discover more opportunities to haul more freight from the world’s leading shippers and grow their earnings. We’re looking for a proactive, customer-obsessed, and results-driven Product Marketing Lead to build and scale the go-to-market strategy for our carrier marketplace.

This is a unique opportunity to lead narrative development and go-to-market for one of Uber Freight’s core business lines. You’ll be responsible for research, discovery, program design and campaign execution. You’ll partner with Product, Carrier Operations, Carrier Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Data Science to thread the needle from messaging and positioning to launch and adoption. You’ll also use AI tools to accelerate research, synthesize insights, and refine positioning and build content with speed and precision.

If you’re a hands-on, full-stack product marketer who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys working cross-functionally, and wants to meaningfully impact an essential market segment that’s traditionally underserved by technology, we’d love to hear from you.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Understand the market and customer: Lead customer insights and market research to define and refine the ideal customer profile and segmentation for Uber Freight’s carrier marketplace. Identify unmet needs, assess competitive dynamics, and translate insights into product and GTM recommendations.
  • Own messaging and positioning: Develop clear, differentiated positioning and messaging that communicates Uber Freight’s unique value to carriers across promotional and operational communications touchpoints. Test and tailor materials across audience segments, from small owner-operators to large fleets.
  • Deliver go-to-market strategy: Own GTM planning and execution, from pilot through public launch. Build scalable frameworks for carrier acquisition, cross-sell, and retention. Define and measure success metrics across awareness, onboarding, active use, and lifetime value.
  • Carrier sales and enablement partnership: Partner closely with carrier sales leadership to define training materials, talk tracks, and objection handling protocols to build and grow relationships with large fleets.
  • Measure, learn, and optimize: Establish KPIs and feedback loops to evaluate carrier marketplace health and GTM effectiveness. Use data and experimentation to iterate quickly, stop what doesn’t work, and scale what works.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of marketing or product management experience
  • 5+ years of product marketing experience
  • 2+ years of supply chain, logistics, and transportation experience
  • BS/BA, MBA preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of freight carriers, carrier marketplaces, and digital freight brokerages.
  • Proven track record of launching and scaling new products or business lines that drive customer acquisition, product adoption, and revenue growth.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills with an ability to shift tone and style across audiences and formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft compelling messaging and content across a range of channels (web, email, social, display advertising, in-app advertising, etc.).
  • Fluency with GPTs, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office 366, Google Analytics, Hubspot, Salesforce, Tableau, and Figma.
  • Quantitative prowess, tying GTM execution to business outcomes, with comfort using AI to accelerate analysis and surface actionable insights.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous and fast-changing environments, with competing priorities and evolving requirements.
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with marketing, sales, product, data science, and operations teams to align on strategy and drive continued executional excellence.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
