Position Summary: The Product Owner will be responsible for the strategic vision, development, and continuous improvement of our Case Management System. This role requires a deep understanding of legal processes, strong technical acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The Product Owner will ensure that the system meets the needs of our legal professionals and supports the firm's goals for efficiency and client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Vision and Strategy: Define and communicate the product vision and strategy for the Case Management System, aligning it with the firm's objectives and user needs.
- Technology Integration & Innovation: Identify and evaluate new technologies or integrations (e.g., APIs, automation tools, AI-driven analytics) to enhance system functionality and efficiency.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with legal professionals, IT teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize features, and ensure the system addresses the needs of all users.
- Change Management: Lead initiatives to facilitate user adoption, effectively communicate system changes, and proactively manage stakeholder expectations.
- Backlog Management: Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that development efforts are focused on delivering maximum value.
- User Stories and Acceptance Criteria: Write clear and actionable user stories and acceptance criteria to guide the development team.
- Product Development: Oversee the development process, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA teams to ensure the system is thoroughly tested and meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and user feedback, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to users, ensuring they can effectively utilize the Case Management System.
- Market and Industry Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance the system.
- Metrics and Reporting: Define and track product success metrics (KPIs). Regularly report progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, preferably within the legal or technology sectors.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of legal processes and case management systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools.
- Ability to translate complex requirements into actionable user stories.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with software development and quality assurance processes.
- Familiarity with UX/UI principles to drive user adoption and engagement.
- Experience in driving change management initiatives, including communication planning, stakeholder engagement, and adoption strategies.
Physical Requirements:
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
- Stationary Position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Move or Traverse – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc. May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.
- Dexterity – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
- Move, Transport, Position, Put, Install, Remove - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
- Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information - The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess - The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
