WPP is on a global transformation journey, and this is an opportunity to join and take the lead on cash and liquidity management and related risk management for Group Treasury.

What you'll be doing:

Responsible for short-term liquidity management, FX trading on behalf of agencies / opco, efficient cash flow and utilization of financial resources.  This role involves forecasting, reconciliation, banking relationship management and supporting strategic treasury initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of FX trading and banking operations. Great opportunity for a motivated candidate to work collaboratively with a team of 30 and lots of opportunities to develop.

This role will report into the UK Treasurer key responsibilities are:

Cash and liquidity management

  • Work with EMEA to monitor and manage daily cash balances across all UK bank accounts.
  • Ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs based on short-term forecast
  • Identify and resolve cash discrepancies and payment issues promptly.
  • Monitor bank account activities and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage corporate credit card programs and related policies.

Financial Risk Management

  • Assist in the identification, measurement, and mitigation of financial risks, primarily foreign exchange (FX) and interest rate risk.
  • Execute FX hedging strategies (e.g., spot, forwards, options) as directed, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
  • Monitor market conditions and provide insights on currency movements and interest rate trends.
  • Support the analysis and reporting of financial risk exposures.

Debt & Investment Management Support:

  • Assist in the administration of corporate debt facilities, including interest payments, and maturities.
  • Support the execution of short-term investment strategies, ensuring adherence to investment policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of debt and investment portfolios.

Banking Relationships & Operations:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for UK banking partners regarding daily operations, service issues, and new product inquiries.
  • Administer and maintain banking relationships, ensuring efficient and cost-effective services.
  • Manage bank account opening, closing, and maintenance processes.

Treasury Systems and Technology

  • Optimization the use of the global treasury management systems (TMS) ensuring Global standardization across the platform
  • Working with Finance, Finance+ (shared services) and the ERP Transformation team as required on joint or Treasury led developments.

Ad hoc

  • Participate in treasury projects, such as system implementations (TMS, ERP), bank consolidations, or new payment initiatives.
  • Assist with other ad-hoc treasury analysis and tasks as required.
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements, bank KYC and internal controls for UK or Group activities as required.

What you'll need:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience within a treasury department of an international business.
  • Knowledge and experience of FX trading including managing short-term loans, derivative arrangements, liquidity, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Experience in managing banking relationship
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exposure to Treasury management systems (IT2 a plus)
  • Excellent project and time-management skills.
  • Advanced level of technical proficiency and computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in English (reading, speaking, and writing).

Nice to have.

  • Accounting or treasury qualification or studying towards an accounting / treasury qualification is desirable.
  • Knowledge of banking products.
  • Experience in the media, advertising or relevant sector.
