
Ergonomics Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Ergonomics Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will combine strong project coordination skills with technical expertise in ergonomics, benchmarking, and vehicle usability assessment. This role requires the ability to analyze competitive vehicle designs, leverage industry standards, and drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-quality product outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage ergonomics and benchmarking projects from planning to delivery.
- Review, analyze, and interpret technical documents, industry standards, and safety protocols (e.g., NCAP, IIHS, NHTSA).
- Conduct benchmarking of competitive vehicle designs for usability and ergonomics, using both heuristic evaluations and objective measurement methods.
- Stay informed on market trends, benchmarking systems, and best practices in ergonomics and vehicle safety.
- Organize and report on project activities, including defining tasks, timelines, and deliverables.
- Prepare and lead technical review meetings, ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
- Support vehicle integration, validation activities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications (Priority 1)
- Mastery of English (written and spoken).
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical documentation with a self-learning mindset.
- Proven project coordination and organizational skills.
- Solid understanding of foundational ergonomics principles (not limited to automotive).
- Experience with benchmarking systems, safety protocols, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in evaluating competitive vehicle designs for usability and ergonomics (heuristic and objective methods).
- CAD knowledge, preferably in NX.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with virtual assessment tools (e.g., Siemens Jack).
- Basic knowledge in feature design and development.
- Ability to initialize project activities, define tasks, deadlines, and prepare reports.
Additional Skills
- Strong team management and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of vehicle integration and validation (exposure to vehicle manufacturing is a plus).
- Deeper expertise in feature design.
- Ability to identify customer wants/needs and translate them into technical requirements.
