About The Role & Team
As the Manager of the Strategic Solutions Engineering Team, you will help coach and mentor our world-class team of SE's to support our Sales Team to meet and exceed our revenue targets. You will support your team to execute winning strategies to position Amplitude’s value in the hearts and minds of our prospects.
This is a “hands on” role. Ideal candidates must be ready to perform demonstrations to executives, drive urgency to secure the technical win and build relationships with technical stakeholders. They must “lead from the front”. To be successful in this role, you must be directly involved in opportunity strategy and execution.

As a Solutions Engineering Manager, you will:
- Prioritize creating great relationships both internally and with our customers
- Lead from the front. Own the success of the opportunities in your region. You will be expected to remove barriers to achieving the technical win and own the performance of the team.
- Help us meet or exceed our revenue targets.
- Coach and develop a team of high performance Solutions Engineers.
- Be an excellent recruiter.
- Articulate a deep understanding of Amplitude technology to prospect and customer audiences, from the C-suite to Dept Heads to Engineering, removing obstacles and delivering differentiated technical and business value propositions and proof points to customers
- Travel to customer on-sites to support demos and presentations to build strong customer relationships
You'll be a great addition to the team if you have:
- 3+ years managing a Pre-Sales solutions team with average deal sizes of $250k or more
- 3+ years of individual contributor Solutions Engineering experience in a customer-facing role
- A track record of displaying Amplitude’s core values: ownership, humility and growth mindset
- Passion for encouraging individual development and learning through clear feedback, equitable & inclusive processes, and hands-on management techniques
- Excellent communication, listening, and presentation skills
- An appetite for self-improvement, encouraging team growth, and seeking new information
- Ability to travel to help our prospects (up to 30%)
- Prior experience with analytics, business intelligence, experimentation, DMPs and/or CDPs

Colorado range: $190,000 - $285,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission) Based on legislation in New York City, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in New York City. New York City salary range: $210,000 - $315,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission) Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $210,000 - $315,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission) Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in California outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. California salary range: $190,000 - $285,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission) Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington state.
