WHY BOX NEEDS YOU
The Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team at Box establishes policies, standards, procedures, and controls to ensure that the business operates securely and efficiently while adhering to regulatory requirements. The team evaluates the effectiveness of these baselines, identifies and mitigates risks, and collaborates with senior leadership to align risk management strategies with business objectives.
As a Policy Intern, you’ll be embedded as a member of the GRC Team, partnering with leaders across the business to review, update, and approve policies, determine future strategies, and enhance the Policy program.
This role is a great opportunity for a creative, innovative, yet detail-oriented individual looking for an inside and cross-functional perspective on how policies enable the business. You will have the chance to learn not only about policies but also about the various functions that develop and implement them.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

Develop a deep understanding of Box's key policies, strengthen your project management and leadership skills, and gain exposure to a wide variety of functional teams within Box.

Manage the annual review and approval of Box policies, including following up with stakeholders across the company as needed.

Update metadata in the policy inventory and quarterly tracker, and propose and drive improvements for tracking policies.

Consolidate input from customers, third-party auditors, and internal teams, and communicate it to policy owners to support policy content improvement.

Learn about Box products and their functionalities, and support the development of a policy lifecycle management solution.
WHO YOU ARE

Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree (B.A./B.S.) in Business, Management Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university, with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026.

Familiarity with and interest in business processes and policies—knowledge of information security management systems is preferred but not required.

Strong communication and presentation skills, along with analytical and conceptual problem-solving abilities.

Box lives its values, with community and in-person collaboration being a core part of our culture. Our interns are expected to work out of our Redwood City headquarters this summer with a minimum of 2 days per week, with a focus on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
