As the Legal Counsel, you will play a vital role within the Commvault Legal team, supporting the Associate General Counsel, APAC and collaborating with our UK and EU legal teams. You will help drive commercial excellence and ensure legal compliance across our dynamic, fast-growing business in the Asia-Pacific region.
You’ll be working at the intersection of technology, law, and business, helping teams close deals, manage risk, and uphold Commvault’s reputation for integrity and innovation. Your work will directly support our Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy and empower teams across sales, marketing, and operations to achieve their goals.

How you will make an impact
- Support the Senior Counsel for APAC in providing day-to-day legal advice across the region.
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and SaaS contracts, including customer, partner, and vendor agreements.
- Partner with the Go-To-Market (GTM) team to enable compliant and efficient deal execution.
- Advise on data privacy, security, and compliance matters (including SOCI, the Privacy Act, and APRA regulations).
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support commercial and regulatory initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the UK and EU to align on global legal processes and policies.
- Support corporate governance and entity management activities across the APAC region.
- Help develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and workflows to streamline operations.
- Provide clear, business-focused advice that balances legal risk and commercial opportunity.
- Contribute to global projects and initiatives that strengthen Commvault’s legal and compliance framework.
What you will bring
To be successful in the role, you should have:
- 2–5 years of post-admission experience in commercial law, ideally within the technology or SaaS industry.
- Admission as a lawyer in Australia or Singapore.
- Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating SaaS or technology-related contracts.
- A solid understanding (or strong interest) in data privacy and cybersecurity laws across APAC.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to provide practical, solutions-oriented advice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging business stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple regions and time zones.
- Willingness to occasionally work outside standard hours to support UK and EU teams.
- A proactive mindset with strong organizational and time management skills.
