Electrician
32Coho Technology Solutions is looking for an Electrician for the San Diego Naval Base. The Electrician shall be knowledgeable and skilled in the electrical trade, and national and local electrical codes, with an ability to read, interpret and apply building specifications, blueprints and building codes.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Install, modify, repair, troubleshoot, load and test new and existing electrical line, circuit, system, fixtures, control, and equipment
- Use knowledge of national and local electrical codes, agency regulation and equipment manufacturer operation and maintenance manuals to properly analyze problems and complete effective repair
- Inspect, clean, repair, and adjust a variety of equipment, circuitry, and fixtures such as, electrical buzzer and bell circuits, lighsocket, lighting fixture, fan switch, solar and conventional heating systems
- Create plans to lay out the routing and determine placement type, size, gauge, balance, load, continuity, and proper and safe operation of electrical line, circuit, system, equipment, and control
- Arrange, place, and route wiring to and from panel, box, circuit, fitting, connection, and control
- Install wiring, conduit, fixture, transformer, and other electrical devices in the size, type, and arrangement needed for proper and safe operation of electrical systems, circuit, and equipment
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment on ships, including generators, switchboards, motors, lighting, and communication systems.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to determine the layout, assembly, and installation of electrical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with electrical systems and develop solutions to fix them.
- Conduct regular maintenance on electrical systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and to prevent breakdowns or other issues.
- Fabricate and repair parts using electrical and electronic test equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
- Use precision measuring instruments, such as voltmeters, to ensure that electrical systems are functioning within specifications.
- Connecting power to ships from shore
- Temporary services to ships power
- Running temporary power 480 volts 400 amps entire ship to give power for lights and welding machines, electrical equipment
- Hooking up disconnects Running air and gases and water services for temporary usage on ship
- Running cable on shipboard
Requirements:
- Experience:
- The ability to recognize and select proper materials from a variety of electrical products
- Knowledge of the makeup, operation, and installation of the wiring systems in industrial complexes and buildings, power and control circuits and distribution panels
- Ability to plan, layout and complete the installation, modification, and repair to various systems, circuits, equipment, and controls
- Possess knowledge of electrical systems to ensure proper and safe installation of system circuits and equipment
- Ability to obtain licenses for the operation of Forklift, High Lift (JLG) and/or Construction equipment, upon notification
- Relevant military experience may be substituted for some of the requirements.
Position Pay Range
$32.89 - $32.89 USD
