We’re looking for a Insights Delivery Consultant to join our Category Management team. You’ll be delivering recommendations directly to the Tesco UK commercial team, to help shape their product ranging decisions. You’ll provide consultancy support to Tesco to identify key opportunities and utilise our data science and tools effectively.

You will collaborate with the client and internal teams to maximize and apply insights from dunnhumby data, including, ROS, share of wallet, profit, and customer decision trees.

You’ll be guiding your stakeholders through a transformative process by working closely with them to uncover and apply meaningful insights, through state-of-the-art data science outputs which put the customers at the centre of every ranging decision.

We’re looking for ambitious, commercially minded individuals to help us re-shape how data and AI are used to power decision-making in Retail. It’s a chance to partner with Teams from across the Tesco business and step change how commercial categories will be managed in the future. As a member of our Category Management Client team we expect you to be driven each day by the opportunities that emerging data science can un-lock and staying at the leading edge of global innovation

Responsibilities:

  • You’ll work on different food categories for Tesco, presenting recommendations for upcoming range reviews at a category level. You’ll be required to present dashboards and recommendations to buying teams, and liaise with them to answer additional questions
  • Reviewing data and dashboards to understand the recommendations and quality check the data and inputs, troubleshooting where needed.
  • Collaborating with buyers to understand their range strategies and overlay this onto your recommendations
  • Educating stakeholders in new and complex data solutions.
  • You’ll be expected to stay up to date with modifications to our tools, understanding the impact this has, and participating in feedback loops to enable continued growth and positive change.

Joining our Category Management Transformation team, you’ll be working with a passionate and collaborative team and world class data scientists to deliver innovative recommendations into Tesco. You will report to our Cat Man Senior Client Lead.

This role would suit people who have

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage with partners from all levels, influence decision making and present complex data
  • Excellent client management and stakeholder management skills (demonstrated either through client management, or internal stakeholders) with the ability to build multiple trusted relationships quickly
  • A collaborative approach to work, with a talent for building positive relationships with colleagues across the business
  • Confident with data, and experience using data and insights to drive decision making
  • Category management knowledge, and/or experience in an FMCG retailer, CPG Supplier, or consultancy
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to handle multiple priorities and prioritise workload accordingly.
  • Proactive and curious to uncover new opportunities.

This role would be an ideal next step for a Category Management Exec or Category Manager looking to develop their insights and ranging capabilities, or an Insight Analyst looking for a client facing role to drive true change in the Tesco business.

Job requirements:

  • 2-4+ years' experience in an insight or client facing role
  • Demonstrated expertise in translating data and analysis into relevant recommendations
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Team player mentality – supporting the team on delivery and overlapping delivery priorities.

Location

  • The role is London (Hammersmith) based, and a presence is required at Welwyn Garden City as needed, at least once per week.
