Job Description:
The Warehouse Manager, based in Piscataway, NJ, will be responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, including timely receiving and picking, inventory management, and team supervision. This role ensures efficient warehouse workflows, compliance with federal and state regulations regarding safety while working with hazardous and flammable materials. This position is categorized as compliance critical and, as such, requires specific responsibility for ensuring continual and proper compliance with all division, corporate and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Directs warehouse activities to ensure efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing inventory.
- Capable of performing, monitoring, and resolving all WMS/SAP transactions supporting department
- Ensure a superior level of accuracy and traceability utilizing the inventory management system
- Develop and maintain KPI metrics in process management, productivity measures and quality controls.
- Ensures compliance with DOT designated hazardous materials, 49 CFR, IATA regulations, and OSHA safety guidelines.
- Provide performance reviews to direct reports; counsels and disciplines under-performing employees
- Author, approve, and implement SOPs, change controls, and non-conformances.
- Prepare or assists in the preparation of the department budget including maintaining costs to budget, rationalizing headcount for department
- Lead warehouse optimization projects
- Investigating and resolving problems, and identifying and implementing process improvements
- Responsible for managing the training and development of personnel including track attendance, coaches and leads subordinates with a view to employee growth and development, monitors performance and manages overtime and other compensation changes
- Assist management in interfacing and relationship development with cross-functional departments (QC, QA, Shipping, production, EHS, etc.) to assure company goals are met
- Sufficient understanding of process, systems and equipment to troubleshoot problems and provide solutions to senior management
- Proactively maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field
- 4 – 5+ years of work experience in the fast-paced warehouse environment
- Proven experience in warehouse and logistics management and strong knowledge of receiving and inventory control processes
- Minimum 2 years prior supervisory, management or leadership experience
- Strong Warehouse Management System experience using SAP or other ERP/WMS systems
- Competent with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. Visio helpful.
- Capable of training full time and temporary FTEs.
- Knowledgeable of the current Code of the Federal Regulations (CFR’s) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s) is preferred.
- Ability to operate pallet jack and forklift is preferred.
