What you'll do:
The Product Manager for Marketplace Channels will own development, measurement, & execution of the channel strategy for the Marketplace team. Determining the priority, messaging approach, and timelines for taking Geotab’s ecosystem, platform, & Marketplace products to market within the sales channels in North America. The role will also work with other Product Managers to drive product requirements from the channel into the Marketplace roadmap for future development, ultimately to gain 100% adoption of products in-channel.
How you'll make an impact
- The primary role is to drive adoption of ecosystem, platform, & Marketplace products within Geotab’s sales channels.
- Own developing new insights & driving these as requirements from the channel stakeholders into the Marketplace product roadmap.
- Be accountable for increasing channel adoption of Marketplace products.
- Develop a rubric for priority & engagement strategy for channel partners.
- Work with internal teams to develop channel-specific product stories, narratives, & supporting artifacts to gain buy-in in-channel.
- Clearly communicate the why for every product effort and educate other stakeholders on this logic. Leverage this in collaboration with product development peers to do:
- Problem and solution validation.
- Translate the customer needs into channel-specific requests, epics and work required to be done.
- Prioritize new requests relative to technical or quality debt for Marketplace.
- Collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders and internal teams to continuously make improvements to Marketplace products, process and roadmap.
- Communicate to the organization the roadmap, process & continuous metrics to demonstrate focus towards achieving your product outcomes.
What you'll bring to the role
- 4+ years of work experience ideally in product management and/or customer discovery or related field.
- Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Engineering, Business, Computer Science or a related field highly valued.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related field may be substituted.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills:
- Good listener, empathetic and enjoy interacting with customers.
- Ability to stitch together disparate insights to uncover common patterns.
- Strong presentation skills (in person and virtually) and ability to deliver training effectively.
- Self starter, resourceful with strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve to well-judged decisions.
- Strong technical understanding of vehicle communication protocols and onboard systems, Geotab’s firmware and reverse engineering processes.
- Strategic mindset, with a keen sense of priorities, along with an ability to pivot as the landscape changes.
- Strong team player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
- Well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills.
- Must stay relevant to technology and should have the flexibility to adapt to the growing technology and market demands.
- Experience with reporting or business analysis.
- High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills to be able to manage products through discovery to launch and continuous review.
