Manager, External Reporting

The Role 

As the Manager, External Reporting at GTI, you will be responsible for managing GTI’s financial reporting process, as well as reviewing and preparing internal and external financial statements. GTI is a fast-growing, publicly traded company, and in this role, you will be responsible for managing GTI’s technical accounting function, supporting the consolidated and regulatory reporting. 

Responsibilities 

  • Prepare and review Form 10-Q, 10-K and quarterly earnings release including financial statements (balance sheet, and income statement), footnote disclosures, and management discussion and analysis (MD&A), 
  • Manage the process for preparation and review of the underlying financial schedules that support the financial statements and footnote disclosures,  
  • Ensure compliance with SEC reporting rules through the accurate and timely filing of required documents, 
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to address accounting and reporting issues, and review financial statements, footnotes and other pertinent matters,  
  • Research and draft technical accounting memos to resolve accounting issues and appropriately handle new transactions, 
  • Support financial accounting and reporting activities related to annual goodwill and intangible asset impairment analysis and conclusions, 
  • Maintain compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX 404) by maintaining effective internal controls over the financial reporting process, 
  • Prepare purchase accounting entries for acquisitions and evaluate variable interest entities,  
  • Collaborate with General Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Legal, Tax, and Investor Relations to ensure accuracy of financial statements and earnings releases 
  • Assist with the monthly corporate close process to ensure results are prepared in accordance with US GAAP and GTI Policies,  
  • Proactively identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to streamline consolidations and external reporting processes 

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting  
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred 
  • 5+ years progressive accounting experience, preferably from Big 4 or similar firms. Public experience and in-house experience are preferred. 
  • Strong technical accounting skills in GAAP and public company reporting requirements  
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills 
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or collaboratively, demonstrating sound judgement, common sense and resourcefulness 
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment 
  • Strong critical thinking skills 
  • Upholds a high level of professionalism and integrity, especially when handling confidential information 

Additional Requirements 

  • Must pass any and all required background checks  
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry  
  • Must possess valid driver’s license 
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age 
  • Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry

The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.

Green Thumb Pay Range

$110,000 - $140,000 USD
