About the Role

iCapital is looking to hire an Artificial Intelligence Operations Lead at iCapital. This individual will be responsible for establishing governance and scaling AI capabilities across the organization. Reporting to the Head of AI, this role ensures AI systems are deployed responsibly, monitored effectively, and deliver measurable business value.

 

The role focuses on operationalizing and integrating AI solutions into business workflows, partnering with engineering, product, compliance, and finance to identify use cases, deploy solutions, manage AI vendors, and track performance, costs, and ROI. The ideal candidate will help implement responsible AI practices, operational controls, and monitoring frameworks, ensuring AI systems remain compliant, reliable, and aligned with business objectives while driving enterprise adoption of AI tools and automation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management of AI/ML systems in production, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability across sales, internal and external workflow, and operational platforms.
  • Strong expertise in end-to-end AI program and project planning, including defining timelines, managing dependencies, mitigating risks, model approval framework and ensuring operational readiness for production deployment
  • Design and optimize AI-powered workflows across the firm, enabling Agentic in areas such as fund onboarding, document processing, diligence workflows, client servicing, and internal knowledge management.
  • Partner with the Sales, Distribution, Product, and Operations teams to identify high-value AI use cases across the private markets’ lifecycle.
  • Define and operationalize governance frameworks for responsible AI use, ensuring alignment with business priority, regulatory expectations, model risk management, data privacy, monitoring and compliance requirements relevant to financial services.
  • Establish monitoring and analytics for AI systems, tracking performance, usage, costs, and measurable business impact (i.e. efficiency gains, risk reduction, and revenue enablement).
  • Act as the operational bridge between AI Engineering teams and business stakeholders, translating technical capabilities into scalable solutions that support investment professionals, advisors, and platform operations.
  • Manage relationships with AI technology vendors and model providers (i.e. OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google), including evaluation, integration, roadmap alignment, field invention.
  • Strong expertise in end-to-end AI program and project planning, including defining timelines, managing dependencies, mitigating risks, and ensuring operational readiness for production deployment.

 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years AI Operational experience
  • 7+ years of experience in data science, machine learning or AI-related roles, with 4+ years leading cross-functional initiatives at scale
  • Experience operationalizing AI/ML or advanced analytics solutions in production, ideally within financial services, fintech, or data-driven platforms
  • Strong understanding of LLMs, data science, AI/ML, and modern AI architectures, including model evaluation, context engineering, and agentic workflow automation
  • Experience designing and implementing agentic AI workflows, including multi-step AI agents that automate complex processes and integrate with enterprise systems, data, and APIs
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale operational frameworks, including monitoring, vendor management, cost governance, and ROI measurement for AI initiatives
  • Experience working with regulated environments, with knowledge in model governance, data privacy, and compliance considerations relevant to financial services
  • Proven ability to partner across Engineering, Product, Legal and Compliance, and Business teams to drive adoption of new technologies
  • Strong program management and execution skills, with experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Vendor and ecosystem management experience, including evaluating and managing AI technology providers
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex AI capabilities into clear business value for senior leadership
  • Proven track record of deploying clients or advisor-facing AI solutions, such as AI bots, recommendation engines, or digital assistants for financial advisors and wealth platforms
  • Familiar with private markets data ecosystems, including structured and unstructured data from fund documents, subscription materials, and performance reporting
  • Knowledge of private markets or alternatives investment workflows (i.e. fund onboarding, diligence, reporting, document-heavy processes) is strongly preferred
  • Experience driving AI adoption in large organizations, including training, change management, KPI tracking and operating model design
  • Experience leading AI innovation teams or functions, driving experimentation and rapid prototyping from concept to enterprise-wide adoption

 

 

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $180,000 to $250,000 depending on experience and level.  iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
