Keeley Construction is looking for a dedicated Mechanical Pipefitter to join our team at a wastewater treatment plant.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Installation & Maintenance: Install, assemble, and maintain mechanical piping systems, pumps, valves, and other mechanical equipment related to wastewater treatment processes.
  • System Inspection & Repair: Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure all piping systems, valves, and related components are in good working condition.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify and troubleshoot issues with mechanical systems, pipes, and related equipment, diagnosing malfunctions and making repairs as needed.
  • Blueprints & Technical Drawings: Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to determine system layouts and specifications.
  • Welding & Cutting: Use welding, cutting, and other mechanical fabrication techniques to repair or replace piping systems, ensuring all repairs meet industry standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all plant safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe work practices, and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, maintenance teams, and other trades personnel to ensure seamless plant operations and minimal downtime.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, repairs, and installations as per regulatory and company requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in pipefitting, plumbing, or mechanical systems preferred.
  • Proven experience as a mechanical pipefitter, preferably in a wastewater treatment plant, industrial, or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of pipefitting techniques, valve systems, and fluid mechanics.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards and environmental regulations related to mechanical work in wastewater treatment.
  • Ability to work with hand and power tools, including pipe benders, threaders, cutting torches, and welding equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent physical condition and ability to lift heavy equipment and materials.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights when required.
