Senior Manager, Brand Design – Sport Equipment

The LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games are a canvas like no other—and we’re looking for a senior-level graphic designer to help bring that canvas to life through the sport equipment used in competition. As Senior Manager Brand Design, Sport Equipment, you will be responsible for crafting and implementing high-impact graphic designs that appear directly on Olympic and Paralympic sport equipment—everything from balls, batons, starting blocks, and targets, to golf tees, table tennis tables, balance beams, and more.

Your work will be static and in motion, on the field of play, and in front of a global audience of billions. This is a rare opportunity to define how the Games are seen and remembered. You’ll develop original designs rooted in LA28’s brand system, tailoring them to the unique surfaces, forms, and functions of sport-specific gear, always aligning with IOC and IPC requirements and collaborating closely with internal teams and external manufacturing partners.

You have impeccable taste. You are an expert craftsperson, a systems thinker, and a brand protector. You know how to balance creativity with precision and thrive in translating flat design into three-dimensional environments. You see sport equipment not as utility—but as storytelling.

This role reports directly to the Head of Brand Design.

Key Responsibilities:

Innovation

  • Bring a creative point of view to equipment graphics—exploring unique compositions, application techniques, and storytelling opportunities
  • Create a stylistic approach that ensures consistent application of designs across all sports
  • Stay ahead of trends in performance design, athlete experience, and brand visibility in sport

Design

  • Create dynamic, brand-aligned graphics that live on sport equipment used during the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games
  • Translate LA28 Look into adaptable artwork across dozens of sports and surfaces—ensuring clarity and impact at scale
  • Design within specific technical and regulatory guidelines provided by the IOC, IPC, and sport federations
  • Lead concept development, refinement, and execution from sketch to final production-ready files

Collaboration

  • Partner closely with LA28 Brand Design, Sport, and Look & Signage teams to ensure graphic consistency and integration with venue environments
  • Work directly with International Sports Federations, equipment manufacturers and production partners to ensure graphic feasibility, accuracy, and quality control throughout prototyping, production and games time
  • Participate in presentations, reviews, test events, and quality control checkpoints to ensure design intent is preserved from screen to surface

Background & Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in brand design, graphic design, or product graphics, ideally with experience in sports, lifestyle, or large-scale event branding
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating design excellence across physical formats—especially applied to non-traditional canvases
  • Proven ability to manage complex creative projects involving multiple stakeholders, tight deadlines, and technical constraints
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, and other creative software
  • Deep understanding of how design scales across materials and form factors, with experience preparing files for production
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across creative, technical, and manufacturing teams
  • Passion for the Olympic and Paralympic movements—and a desire to make history through design
  • A passion for design, culture, and the power of creative storytelling at a global scale
  • This isn’t just another gig—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help shape the look, feel, and experience of LA28

Join us in shaping the visual identity of LA28 and ensuring its global consistency!
