Senior UX Researcher
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-directed User Experience Researcher with deep expertise in quantitative methods to support product development across messaging, notifications, and search experiences. This role is ideal for someone passionate about uncovering user needs and translating insights into actionable strategies that shape world-class digital products. Key Responsibilities
Research Design & Execution
- Lead custom research initiatives to uncover user needs and inform product strategy.
- Design and conduct robust quantitative studies, particularly survey-based research, including sampling, data cleaning, analysis, and reporting.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement custom survey experiences.
Technical Collaboration
- Partner with engineers working on ranking systems and machine learning models to ensure research insights inform technical development.
- Translate complex user data into meaningful recommendations for product and engineering teams.
Insight Communication
- Synthesize research findings into compelling narratives using presentations, reports, workshops, and other creative formats.
- Advocate for user needs across all levels of the organization, ensuring insights are integrated into product decisions.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Work closely with researchers, designers, product managers, data scientists, marketers, and engineers across multiple teams.
- Ensure research delivers a holistic view of user behavior and supports product development across the app ecosystem.
Operational Excellence
- Deliver high-quality insights under tight deadlines, maintaining agility across multiple projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve research processes and contribute to best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Business, Social Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in product or user research.
- Proven expertise in research design, survey development, and statistical analysis (e.g., linear/logistic regression, ANOVA, t-tests, Chi-square).
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python (Jupyter), R, or SPSS.
- Advanced knowledge of online survey platforms and data analysis tools.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working with complex technologies involving machine learning and ranking systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Business, Social Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in product/user research.
- Advanced statistical expertise (e.g., Hierarchical Linear Modeling, Latent Factor Analysis).
- Demonstrated ability to lead impactful research programs that influence product strategy.
- Experience in digital advertising, monetization, or related domains.
Location: New York, NY (Onsite)
Role type: Contract - 6 Month Position
Expected hours: 40 per week
