This role involves providing overall strategic direction in the creation, implementation, and delivery of innovative IT services for PlayStation Studios. Under the direction of the Senior Director of Studio IT, the Studio IT Director will direct a team consisting of skills ranging from support specialists through senior level Systems Engineers providing all levels of support and engineering for both workstation and infrastructure support for studios.

You and your team will deliver tailored IT solutions that support the development of extraordinary award-winning titles that PlayStation Studios are known for. While your main focus is the delivery of studio specific technical solutions, you will work in collaboration with other supporting IT teams within SIE and Sony to coordinate the successful delivery of ubiquitous IT services in accordance to studio needs and expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with all departments and functions to build and lead cross-team strategic development and support plans that define goals, important metrics, decision points, critical paths, timelines, risks, assumptions, alternative scenarios, and budgets.
  • Coordinate IT-related activities with other teams throughout studios as needed.
  • Responsible for business continuity and recovery of studio’s information systems, including needs analysis, design, plan development, implementation, and documentation.
  • Working with the larger Studio IT team, develop an IT operations and services global strategy with a prioritized roadmap and timeline, considering strategic rationale, risk profile and benefits
  • Collaborate closely with central SIE IT teams to develop fit-for-purpose Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and Operational Level Agreements (OLA’s) that meet with studio expectations
  • Analyze business requirements by partnering with key customers across the both the studio and SIE to develop solutions for studio IT needs
  • Builds an environment for teams to innovate, self-improve and implement quickly and with accuracy
  • Strong advocate for workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Participates in roadmap discussions, identifies key areas for improvement in the support space and incorporates these goals into ongoing & future development initiatives

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or 15 years progressive experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Enterprise IT leadership
  • Stays up to date with emerging technology trends
  • Knowledgeable in the utilization of ITIL Process Framework principles and possess a technical background working in a classified environment that includes experience in solving problems connectivity issues, hardware and software support, hands-on and remote support.

Desired Experience & Attributes:

  • Strong business sense and judgment, with the ability to think strategically about business issues and accurately assess key business metrics and situations.
  • Experience working with outsourced providers and managing service delivery expectations.
  • Skilled in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectives; with an ability to problem solve and facilitate solutions with limited direction.
  • Coordinates among global counterparts and other teams to ensure continuity of support to global customers
  • Champion innovation and creativity, diversity and inclusion, collaboration and communication.
  • Prior experience leading IT teams in game studios or other creative production environments is highly preferred
  • May require some travel to other company offices (10-15%)

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$196,700 - $295,100 USD
