PREMION, a 10x award-winning CTV/OTT streaming TV advertising solution, is seeking a strategic financial leader to establish and build out a corporate accounting function that will include tax, accounting operations and treasury functions. The Controller will report to the CEO and is responsible for setting accounting policy that is in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and ensuring that the company’s business processes are effective and efficient.  The role will, be primarily responsible for financial reporting, accounting policy, internal controls, audit, tax, treasury, financial systems, and accounting operations.

OTT is a new and exciting frontier in ad tech, with many opportunities around data, identity, targeting, and attribution left to solve in the industry. Premion functions as a startup within a larger company, having the autonomy and resources to be flexible and successfully address these exciting opportunities. Responsibilities: 

  • Develop a high performing accounting team, drive performance through goal setting and foster an environment of ongoing improvement through feedback, coaching and training.
  • Oversee the Company’s financial reporting and monthly close processes are efficiently produced in accordance with GAAP on a timely basis.
  • Oversee the transition and establishment of accounting operations for Premion.
  • Provide executive leadership to ensure that the accounting systems are robust and support the organization scale and growth, while providing strong internal controls, reporting and operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous business process improvements through the design and implementation of new technologies, overseeing robust and accurate business requirements, reporting, and testing for all system changes impacting Accounting.
  • Ensure that operational and design effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting is maintained.
  • Partner with external auditors to manage timely completion of quarterly and annual reviews.
  • Partnering with the CFO to determine accounting and tax implications for all material business decisions.
  • Collaborate with the CFO and executive team to improve overall company performance.
  • Oversee tax compliance and strategy; ensure filings are in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Worked with external partners including auditors, bankers, and tax advisors to build relationships, increase the Company’s capabilities and incorporate best practices into the Accounting team and across the company.
  • Ensure compliance with all GAAP and other applicable laws, rules, and financial regulations for financial, partnership and tax reporting.

Requirements: 

  • 10+ years in an accounting leadership role gained through a combination of public accounting and industry experience.
  • At least four years of public accounting experience
  • Prior controller experience
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Experience with Financial Systems and administration.
  • Middle Market or Private Equity experience.
  • Experience with business process improvement and implementation.
  • A team leader with strong executive communication skills and ability to work across functions
  • Track recorded of team development and improvement.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
  • High work ethic and self-initiative
  • Ability to maintain calm and professional demeanor in sometimes high-pressure situations
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Suite
  • Some travel may be required

Pay Range

$180,000 - $180,000 USD
