TEGNA Inc. is seeking a Scrum Master/Project Manager to join its Digital Content Team. The successful candidate will have experience leading and supporting high-functioning scrum teams. The scrum master will partner with multiple Product owners to achieve sprint and release goals by facilitating all agile scrum ceremonies, removing obstacles, and ultimately delivering quality products on time. They lead by example, encouraging team members to take ownership of their work and be accountable for their actions.
Responsibilities:
- Keeping all parties on track and informed by facilitating daily Scrums or standups.
- Assisting the Product Owner in management and grooming of the product backlog, ensuring that it is prioritized and aligned with the product vision.
- Performing Sprint Reviews to showcase progress and obtain feedback.
- Completing retrospectives to reflect on the previous sprint, discover areas for improvement, and ensure that progress is tracked.
- Ensure the Scrum Board is up to date, organized, and visible to the team.
- Removing roadblocks by identifying and eliminating impediments.
- Clearing up administrative tasks to reduce distractions and minimize workflow interruptions.
Requirements:
- Assisting the Product Owner in establishing and managing the product backlog including story development and Sprint Planning.
- Facilitating Scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
- Coaching the Scrum team by ensuring that all events are positive, productive, and kept within the appropriate time box.
- Thrives in ambiguity in a fast-paced, hyper-growth organization.
- Demonstrable knowledge and Proficiency in the following tools:
- Atlassian products, Jira, Confluence, Advanced Roadmaps
- MS 365 Suite (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Bonus qualifications:
- Knowledge of OTT/CTV/Mobile application development, CMS (content management systems), Website architecture and design.
- Working knowledge of implementing OKR’s within a scrum environment
- MS Copilot or other AI workflow tools to benefit the team at large.
