The Role
We are looking for a Revenue Accountant to join our growing Finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the revenue accounting function, ensuring accurate revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams, contributing to process improvements and financial decision-making. If you have strong analytical skills, technical accounting expertise, and excellent communication abilities, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and evolving team.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the full revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with ASC 606.
- Assess and apply ASC 606 principles to complex customer contracts for accurate revenue recognition.
- Analyze revenue data using Excel to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Perform monthly revenue close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring accurate revenue accruals.
- Support the preparation of revenue-related reports for management and board reporting packages.
- Monitor and analyze recognized revenue, identifying discrepancies and ensuring appropriate accounting treatment.
- Identify opportunities to improve and streamline revenue accounting processes, implementing effective solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive revenue-related initiatives and optimize processes.
What You'll Bring
- Post-secondary education in accounting and/or finance
- CPA designation
- 3+ years progressive work experience in finance and/or accounting
- Strong technical accounting expertise, with a focus on revenue recognition under ASC 606 or IFRS 15.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
