Mission

The candidate will join the Vonage API Product Marketing team, part of a highly creative, energetic and results-oriented organization that leads the marketing strategy for our API business. We own and direct the go-to-market strategy, planning, and execution to attain our revenue, profit, and market share goals. 

We leverage industry knowledge, deep analysis of market and customer data, and superior product knowledge to develop actionable marketing strategies and product go-to-market roadmaps. We are creative and collaborative, working to convert Vonage’s API products and services into solutions that meet the needs of our current and future customers.

Why this role matters

The Product Marketing Manager for Network APIs will work within the product marketing team to develop and execute the go-to-market (GTM) and customer care plans for the emerging new business for Network APIs - which are APIs that expose new advanced 5G network capabilities to developers. This is a key market direction for Vonage and Ericsson and requires innovative early-marklet thinking that will drive .

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in building end-to-end software marketing plans and campaigns, creating compelling value propositions, writing customer communications, and enabling and supporting sales teams. They understand cloud software and APIs, and have a level of telecommunications experience ideally including 5G technologies. They are adept at producing engaging customer-facing and sales-facing marketing collateral, with strong English verbal writing, and presentation skills. They thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with other global teams across the company and know how to influence and drive cross-functional teams.

This important role reports into the Sr. Director of API Product Marketing, and will be based in Wroclaw, Poland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a market view of emerging Network API technologies, feature and regulatory changes, and competitive positioning, through market and competitive analysis - that will inform customer, sales, and marketing plans and communications. Collaborate with regional and global teams across Vonage to gather, structure and analyze this information..
  • Identify market offers and opportunities through research and analysis that includes technology, geographic and industry information, marketing sizings, and future market projections, together with competitive intelligence.
  • Build solutions-oriented business cases and go-to-market strategies and plans in partnership with the greater marketing (product, campaign, field, alliances etc), global sales, and product and engineering teams. Work with the rest of marketing to package and elevate Network API capabilities into higher-level solution-oriented campaigns.
  • Maintain project plans and schedules, including task assignments, resources, milestones, review points and reporting requirements, using tools like Monday and others.
  • Engage with senior leadership to define, seek approval, and execute product marketing strategies and global direction.
  • Build sales enablement plans, presentations, competitive analysis, and written content and deliver directly, and indirectly through other training functions, to global sales teams.
  • Work directly and continuously with multiple product managers to understand product capabilities, new releases, and direction, and support all required product GTM activities.
  • Develop a broad array of content in the form of presentations, documents, battlecards, articles/blogs, and financial models, targeted across a diverse range of audiences, including prospects, existing customers, sales, marketing teams, product owners, executive leadership, etc.
  • Prepare external thought leadership presentations for yourself and others to deliver at webinars, tradeshows, analyst briefings, etc.
  • Contribute to major marketing group deliverables including regular marketing and  business review and planning processes.

Requirements and Employee Characteristics for Success: 

  • 4+ years of software marketing experience, particularly with cloud software such as SaaS applications or CPaaS API platforms or IaaS software platforms.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in business and marketing, with some technology training in computer science and software development.
  • Telecommunications background with an appreciation of how CPaaS APIs opened up traditional communications, and how new 5G capabilities will greatly expand this with a new generation of APIs. An understanding of GSMA, GSMA Open Gateway, and CAMARA standards will be very useful.
  • Fluent in English with excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills, especially the creation of effective slide presentations and written documents. Experience with Google Workspace suite a plus, and Microsoft 365/Office suite also a benefit.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously, balancing short and long term objectives, while working across globally dispersed teams in North and South America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
  • Professional and mature approach with the ability to comfortably interact with all levels and functions, including senior management and sales, product, partner, and operations teams.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, ideally with experience using analytics tools like Salesforce, Tableau, 6Sense, and Gong.
