What you'll do:
- Team Management: Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing, collaborative, and autonomous data science team of 10 to 14 members, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Technical Leadership: Lead the design and development of a portfolio strategy framework that enables the company’s global strategic goals to be executed at scale.
- Quality & Delivery: Ensure the technical excellence and business impact of machine learning models through code reviews, observability, telemetry, and modeling hands-on contributions when needed.
- Strategic Leadership: Define and drive the short, mid, and long-term data science strategy related to portfolio strategy, ensuring alignment with company objectives and acting as a senior technical authority.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, analytics, product, and business stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and deliver high-impact, data-driven solutions.
- Practice Excellence: Champion best practices across the data science lifecycle—promoting reusability, automation, and continuous monitoring to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Innovation: Stay ahead of emerging technologies and incorporate innovative tools, methodologies, and frameworks into team practices to accelerate experimentation and value delivery.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or any quantitative field; a master’s or PhD is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience leading data science teams, with strong people management skills and the ability to cultivate a collaborative, growth-oriented team culture.
- Deep understanding of machine learning techniques and experimentation frameworks, with experience applying them to real-world challenges such as recommendation systems, optimization, or forecasting.
- Extensive experience in architecting and optimizing data pipelines using Databricks, Azure, and Spark ecosystems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices, version control (e.g., GitHub), and automation tools to enable reliable and scalable ML operations.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent organizational and strategic planning abilities, with a proven track record of managing multiple priorities and delivering results in dynamic environments.
- Advanced or fluent English proficiency and experience working in global, cross-functional settings.
- Nice to have: Experience with portfolio management strategies (e.g., recommendation techniques, audience management) and exposure to innovation environments or emerging technologies such as Generative AI.
