HR Specialist
Coho Consulting Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Specialist with experience in Federal HR talent acquisition and staffing to join our team supporting our Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) Human Resources Directorate (HRD) Hiring Support Services program. This position will support the full-cycle recruitment process for Federal positions, including posting job announcements, reviewing applications, and assisting with candidate selection. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in Federal staffing, proven administrative capabilities, and expertise in HR automated systems such as USA Staffing. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the staffing efforts of a dynamic team while enjoying the flexibility of remote work.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment and staffing process for Federal positions, including creating and certifying job announcements, screening candidates, and assisting with the selection process.
- Use HR automated systems (primarily USA Staffing) to post job announcements, track applications, and manage candidate data.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure that staffing needs are met efficiently and in compliance with Federal HR policies and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all staffing actions and recruitment processes.
- Provide administrative support for all aspects of Federal talent acquisition, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and regulations.
- Stay informed about changes to Federal HR policies, laws, and regulations to ensure the recruitment process remains compliant.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Clearance:
- Must possess a Secret security clearance or eligible to obtain one.
- Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field such as Business Administration, Organizational Development, Human Resources Development, or Organizational Psychology.
- Required Knowledge/Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Federal HR talent acquisition and staffing.
- Proven administrative skills and experience working with HR automated systems, especially USA Staffing.
- Preferred experience with DCPDS (Defense Civilian Personnel Data System).
- Understanding of Federal staffing policies, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and manage multiple staffing tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
