Senior Preconstruction Manager

We are looking to hire a Senior Preconstruction Manager for our Building Group in Phoenix, AZ. This position will be responsible managing all aspects of Pre-Construction development for our group.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of the Pre-Construction process from client management to estimates.
  • Provides leadership for the estimating team members including assessing/coaching existing talent.
  • Works with the Groups Leaders to pursue, acquire, and maintain new and existing clients.
  • Continuously reviews and evaluates for potential for new/ emerging markets and understands the viability of the current markets for future growth and/ or value add to the group
  • Provides value alternative solutions taking into consideration cost, schedule, maintenance, and life cycle cost implications. Oversees value alternate preparation from subcontractors, and internal departments.
  • Fills in design gaps for incomplete documents for the completion of estimates. Ensures estimating department has most current design information in the preparation of estimates.
  • Oversees the establishment of the budget control during the award phase of the project.
  • Presents deliverables to the owner in a complete and organized manner, per the governing documents that are included from the requirements of the owner/ client.
  • Prepares or oversees preparation of preconstruction schedule.
  • Ensures we are adhering to contractual requirements and strategically meeting overall goals by understanding preconstruction and construction contracts and applying knowledge to assigned project.
  • Responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring the Preconstruction/ Estimating Group budget and expenses.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering
  • 5-10 years of applicable estimating, contract management, and leadership oversight experience in the design/build industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Communicate effectively both orally and through writing and work cooperatively in a fast paced, diverse team environment.
  • Self-starter. Highly motivated to bring results and success to the Business Units he/she leads.
