The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Program Manager, Cross Functional Integration

LA 28 is hiring for multiple roles across two levels — Manager and Senior Manager — to act as powerful conduits of information and planning between the central project management team and functional area planning teams. 

As a Program Integrator, you will be at the heart of our strategic initiatives, driving cross-functional collaboration and ensuring that our Functional Areas (FAs) are aligned with the broader vision of LA28. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with leaders across the organization and contribute to the success of one of the most significant events in the world. You must rank your top 3 areas of interest for which departments you are most interested to serve. This role will report into the department’s leader.  

This role is responsible for working closely with functional area planners, subject matter experts, and leaders to ensure integrated planning and detailed understanding of the status of projects and programs

  4. Experience & Marketing 
  5. Games Logistics & Services  
  6. Sport & Games Delivery 

They will, via dotted line, report into their Portfolio Lead within the centralized Planning and Programs team. They also work closely with the finance, legal, and HR business partners to manage budget and headcount plans. This role will own the tracking, management, and operationalization of the contracts for their area and needs to understand the services and goods well enough to advise and make decisions along the way 

Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external teams is essential for this position. This is a highly collaborative role, perfect for someone who enjoys working with a team to make sense of complex and sometimes contradictory information, solve problems, and bring people together toward a common goal. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist FA leaders with strategic and operational planning efforts. Aligning strategy, objectives, and key results to the plan for execution.  
  • Understand, communicate, and drive resolution for trade-offs between scope, budget, and resources within your functional areas. 
  • Support and manage one or more functional area’s timelines, budget, and resource allocation by interfacing with the central planning, finance and people teams.  
  • Act as a conduit of information, applying critical thinking to the information available and assisting with connecting functional areas to the broader scope of the organization.  
  • Partner with department lead and procurement team to provide oversight of the contracts in their area, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, monitoring of contract performance, managing risks associated with the contract and maintaining relationships with suppliers.  
  • Collaborate with business affairs and procurement to track and report progress on agreements in negotiation.  
  • Create and contribute to reports and presentations to facilitate sharing information, metrics, and progress related to the functional area goals

Background & Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • 5+ years managing projects end to end with proficiency implementing processes and standards.  
  • 3+ years of managing contracts for a department or team throughout their lifecycle and  
  • Experience managing project budgets and resource loading. 
  • Experience interfacing with senior leaders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  
  • Strong project management skills combined with excellent interpersonal skills.  
  • Broad generalist knowledge across the spectrum of Olympic or Paralympic Games Delivery or experience in large events.  
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement risk mitigation plans and drive consensus when the path forward may be ambiguous.  
  • Excellent data analysis, presentation preparation skills, and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to adjust communication to a variety of audiences.  
  • Expertise in using project management tools (SmartSheet experience preferred)  

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions 

  • Ability to work On-site in an office environment, based in Los Angeles, CA 
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment

Education:

  • Experience working in Management Consulting or business analysis roles. 
  • Ongoing professional development, certification, or training in program and project management, change management. 

Expectations:

  • Ability to mentor and develop junior project managers within your functional areas  
  • Ability to maintain flexibility, adapting to the evolution of role responsibilities through new phases and Games-time 
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects and governance activities concurrently.  
  • Strong judgment, knowing when and to whom to escalate issues or decisions

The annual base salary range for this position is $ $85,000-130,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
