Role: Finance Director (FTC - 12 months) 

Location: South Africa (Remote) 

ROLE MISSION 

Working in partnership with our teams, the Finance Director will be responsible for overseeing the finance function within the South African market, partnering strategically with the local Senior Leadership team and Client Leads to drive forecasting accuracy, growth and profitability within region. This position requires a highly commercial and strategic individual who can act as a key business partner.  

ABOUT THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING 

This role will manage the local finance team overseeing day to day financial management (financial accounting, cashflow, budgeting, forecasting, tax, commercials) and ensure ongoing process improvement. You will report into the EMEA Finance Director and will collaborate with the broader EMEA Finance Team on a regular basis. 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE 

  • Ownership of weekly P&L forecast ensuring timely and accurate submission including preparation of detailed analysis and commentary for senior management 
  • Oversee preparation of month-end and yearly management accounts including provision of monthly variance analysis and written commentary for discussion with key stakeholders 
  • Collaborate with Client Leads and Local Management to formulate and monitor financial plans and budgets 
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting initiatives, maintaining financial models and standardised templates for planning 
  • Drive business performance through influencing senior leaders with critical information and analysis 
  • Support communication between regional teams and Global teams to ensure alignment and consistency 
  • Cashflow Management 
  • Statutory Reporting  
  •  Audit management, Tax and Compliance 
  • Assist BBBEE Audits and in particular oversee our supplier base and initiatives to ensure maximum compliance. 
  • Drive process improvements and simplification 
  • Drive the business to proactively manage costs and optimise cost base 
  • Mentoring, management and development of direct reports 
  • System Implementations 

WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL  

  • Fully qualified CA (SA) 
  • +7 years’ experience post articles 
  • Experienced strategic, commercial financial leader 
  • A proven business partner who can quickly establish credibility with non-financial stakeholders 
  • Excellent communication skills with a pro-active, collaborative approach, a can-do attitude and a keen attention to detail 
  • Can successfully prioritise, deliver on commitments and achieve Local, Group-wide and Statutory deadlines 
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, change environment and is always looking to improve/develop process to maximise efficiencies 
  • Prior experience of NetSuite and adaptive would be a benefit 
  • Prior experience or knowledge of South African BBB-EE codes and audits would be advantageous. 
  • Any cross-border African or broader EMEA experience would also be a benefit.
