Duties and Responsibilities
As an Expediting Assistant, you will:
- Contact vendors to request and confirm shipping and delivery details, and handle communication regarding order discrepancies
- Manage Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) by communicating discrepancies with vendors, tracking returns, and ensuring returned materials are accurately received back into inventory
- Track shipment status and update our ERP system (Epicor) with accurate delivery info
- Communicate updates or delays to the internal purchasing and scheduling teams
- Assist with maintaining timelines for incoming materials related to ongoing projects
- Keep accurate records and follow internal processes to support on-time production
Experience and Qualifications
What You’ll Bring:
- 1-2 years of prior experience in an office, administrative, or customer service role preferred
- Interest in learning about purchasing, supply chain, or logistics
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and following up on open tasks
- ERP or data entry experience is a plus (Epicor preferred)
Preferred but Not Required:
- Exposure to supply chain, purchasing, or vendor coordination in a work or school setting
- Associate's degree or coursework in business, operations, or a related field
