Digital Game Sales Associate Manager

About the team:

The Global Marketing, Sales and Business Operations (GMSBO) team brings together staff from around the world, with a passion for engaging gamers with PlayStation’s extraordinary products and services. GMSBO teams are located in countries across the globe, balancing local relevance with a global perspective. Across our Direct to Consumer, channel partners, and services business, our teams work cross-functionally to bring the best of the PlayStation experience to markets and channels around the world.

Role overview:

The Direct 2 Consumer Division brings together a team from around the world, with a passion for engaging PlayStation gamers with relevant and entertaining content. This area of Sony Interactive Entertainment has experienced substantial growth in recent years, making it an important source of revenue. It is constantly adapting to industry changes. We are looking for individuals who are motivated by being part of a truly global team, working together at the forefront of digital content distribution. As part of this, we have created the Digital Games Sales (DGS) team who are responsible for driving the value proposition of the PlayStation Store.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Commercial and Independent Partners, Global Digital Games Sales, the Associate Digital Games Sales Manager will implement the DGS strategy, focusing on Independent publishers. They will deliver against digital revenue targets via implementation of a category planning process and strategic digital commercial plan. They must work collaboratively, as part of a cross-functional team, to optimise the consumer proposition and deliver title plans designed to achieve the delivery of shared commercial objectives globally.

The ideal candidate should be an enthusiastic and flexible teammate, have proven negotiation skills, and a strong analytical mind that thrives in a fast-paced commercial environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work directly with assigned accounts to advance the DGS strategy and develop a long-range plan.
  • Drive the achievement of revenue and digital share targets for independent titles through the implementation of rolling product lifecycle roadmaps.
  • Responsible for the utilization of analytics to deliver revenue targets and accurate forecasts for the account(s) they lead.
  • Secure content and deals with key publishers for inclusion in PS Store promotions as well as new release, live service and lifecycle roadmap initiatives that supports DGS’s strategy and initiatives.
  • Handle the digital monetisation of the content portfolio for key independent account(s), and align with counterparts within the DGS Global Commercial Accounts team to share knowledge of the overall portfolio landscape and strategize standard processes.
  • Advise Leadership on developments and opportunities within your key account(s).
  • Meet regularly with Global Third Party Relations and other internal partners to ensure alignment with broader platform activities.
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality end-to-end delivery of digital products to consumers throughout the entire lifecycle with particular focus on seamless product launches.
  • Support the forecasting process and delivery of internal/external business performance updates.

What we’re looking for:

  • Five or more years of digital retail and / or digital entertainment industry experience.
  • Creative & energetic teammate who embraces change and exhibits desire to continually improve.
  • Strong commercial approach and able to evidence delivery of targets through joint business planning with partners.
  • Proven track record of using data to curate and shape portfolio offerings to drive the business.
  • Proven experience of building strong, influential and collaborative relationships within both internal and external teams.
  • Resourceful in finding solutions to business problems.
  • Ability to self-manage and balance multiple projects and priorities.
  • Commercially focused and results driven with a demonstrable data-centric, analytical approach.
  • Track record of successfully growing revenue within a relevant commercial marketplace.
  • Able to engage, motivate and develop staff at all levels and in different geographies.
  • Strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, sense of humor, and delivery focused to get results.
  • As the role sits within a global team, some international travel may be required on occasions, as well as a flexible approach to working hours.
  • As part of SIE’s flexible working policy, the ability to travel to our San Mateo office for “Moments that Matter” will be expected.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$105,800 - $158,600 USD
