Job Description:

Strider is growing now more than ever! As a member of the IT team, you will help us prepare for the unexpected. You will help us build out solutions that will help take us to the next level. Strider is always on the cutting edge of technology and is always looking to improve our processes through automation, security, and functionality. If you have a drive to learn everything you can about a new environment and look for ways that can be improved, this role may be for you.

As a key member of our IT team, you will lead the drive to bring us into the next stage of automated deployments. Taking our processes from a manual approach to an automated one, you will be able to design and build systems that will take us to the next level. You will be working with multiple departments to convert tasks with many individual processes into a “one-click deployment”. We are ready to move to the next level in automation and you will be at the forefront of that endeavor.

Strider is seeking a talented, experienced individual to help with maintaining our current systems as well as building out new ones. Diversified across multiple cloud platforms you will have the ability to build out environments in multiple places. Contributing to our core infrastructure that will be utilized throughout the company.

This position offers the unique ability to manage and own large portions of our core infrastructure and come up with ways to “make it better”. We are always looking for how we can improve our setup and this position will allow you to feel like you are contributing to something that truly matters.

What you will bring:

  • Expertise in AWS cloud environments and a strong background in managing Linux systems.
  • A desire to make things better, constantly looking for a more efficient way to accomplish a task.
  • Expertise in automation, looking to automate as many tasks as is possible.
  • Collaborate with other departments to make sure they get the tools they need to further their goals.

Responsibilities for this role:

  • Expertise on AWS provisioning using Terraform, Ansible equivalent technologies.
  • Strong AWS background to help with ensuring services are setup properly and securely.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, EKS or other similar container management solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of Linux systems (Redhat or Debian based).
  • Experienced in any of the scripting languages (bash, ruby, python etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in systems administration.
  • Experience designing and building production level environments.
  • Experience setting up custom monitoring for solutions like Zabbix, Grafana, Nagios
  • Willing to help with local IT support when needed.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with system hardening following set security standards like NIST.

Nice to haves

  • CI/CD pipeline experience using Github Actions or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Experience with obtaining or maintaining security certifications like SOC2 or ISO 27001.
  • Familiarity with MDM solutions like JAMF.
  • Experience with enterprise wireless networking.
  • Familiarity with managing various SAS applications like Google Workspace, JIRA, etc.
