The Role

The Competitive Intelligence Analyst will play a critical role in driving the organization’s strategic decision-making by providing actionable insights into public safety software market trends, competitive dynamics, and industry opportunities. This role involves gathering, analyzing, and disseminating intelligence on competitors, customers, and market conditions to inform business strategy and support key stakeholders across the company. 

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and skilled in synthesizing complex data into clear, compelling insights. 

What You’ll Do 

Market and Competitive Research: 

  • Monitor and analyze competitors' strategies, product offerings, pricing, marketing campaigns, and business models. 
  • Identify and track industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes impacting the market landscape. 
  • Conduct SWOT analyses to assess competitive threats and opportunities. 

Intelligence Gathering and Analysis: 

  • Collect and consolidate data from multiple sources, including public filings, press releases, market research reports, customer feedback, trade shows, and social media. 
  • Leverage advanced tools and techniques to gather and process competitive intelligence (e.g., web scraping, data visualization tools). 
  • Translate data into actionable insights, reports, and presentations for senior leadership and cross-functional teams. 

Stakeholder Collaboration: 

  • Work closely with product, sales, marketing, and strategy teams to align competitive intelligence efforts with business priorities. 
  • Support go-to-market strategies by providing detailed competitor profiles, win/loss analysis, and industry benchmarks. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to educate internal teams on competitive dynamics and market positioning. 

Reporting and Communication: 

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and knowledge repositories to ensure timely and efficient sharing of intelligence. 
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership through concise, visually compelling deliverables. 
  • Track the effectiveness of intelligence-driven initiatives and refine processes based on feedback. 

What You Bring 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Market Research, or a related field 
  • 2-3 years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, strategy, or a related analytical role
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with experience in both qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Proficiency in competitive intelligence tools and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights and communicate them effectively
  • Solid understanding of industry-specific dynamics, customer behavior, and market economics
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
