The Role
As a Solutions Architect at Versaterm Public Safety, you will design innovative solutions that enhance the effectiveness of public safety agencies. You will play a crucial role in understanding customer needs, developing technical specifications, and creating architecture blueprints that align with business goals and objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of software architecture patterns, cloud computing technologies, and a commitment to developing secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions.
What You’ll Do
Architectural Design & Strategy: Develop scalable and efficient solution architectures for new and existing products while ensuring alignment with business goals and technological best practices.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (engineering, product management, sales) and external stakeholders (clients, partners) to translate requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
Integration Management: Lead the integration of products and services, including NG911, CHS, ESINET, and other public safety systems, to ensure seamless interoperability and performance.
Technical Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to development teams, ensuring architectural standards and security protocols are upheld throughout project lifecycles.
Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in existing systems through architectural improvements and resource optimization.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure solutions comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., NG911, NENA) and support the reliability and security requirements of public safety communications.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain up-to-date documentation of solution designs, configurations, and best practices to support ongoing knowledge transfer and system support.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- 5+ years of experience in solution architecture, preferably in the telecommunications or public safety sector.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, especially in NG911, VoIP, SIP, and ESINET.
- Proficiency in cloud-based architectures (AWS preferred), virtualization, and VPN. A Certification in solution architecture or related fields (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is a plus.
- Familiarity with database design and optimization.
- Experience with integration tools, APIs, and data management.
- Bilingual in English and French.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards in public safety (e.g., NENA, NG911).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
