SUMMARY:
As the Sales Director, and a key member of the US Sales Leadership Team, you will be chartered with defining the right go-to-market strategy (GTM), objectives to scale, and building / optimizing the processes, organization, and infrastructure to enable the GTM organizations to achieve those growth objectives. We are a passionate group of experts focused on driving scale and enabling Sales, Marketing, and Customer Experience to exceed their growth goals.
As the Sales Director, you will work directly with sales leadership & Marketing to deeply understand and improve our go-to-market engine. You will drive projects to optimize our GTM capabilities and build a world class sales engine that will scale with our aggressive growth.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
The Sales Director role is responsible for managing the sales teams and leading the development and closing of new business with prospective and existing customers. This role will coach teams through sales cycles by positioning multiple solutions, prospecting, qualifying, developing and presenting proposals. The position is responsible for leading teams through lead and demand generation activities; negotiating contract details; actively driving closure of sales; and extending with multi-year recurring revenue service or maintenance components.
- Supervise Business Development Managers, Inside Sales Representatives, and SMB Account Managers. Provide coaching and mentoring to grow selling skills and capabilities.
- Work with the VP of Sales to set revenue and sales goals, create commission plans, and ensure performance standards are met.
- Collaborate with Marketing to enhance script templates and call-handling strategies for the Business Development Managers, Inside Sales Representatives and SMB Account Managers.
- Guide sales teams to identify opportunities, present capabilities and gain commitment from prospects leading to revenue.
- Continually challenge sales teams to develop new prospects to build and manage a sustained, profitable pipeline of opportunities and drive successful results
- Create strategies with the Marketing team to penetrate new territories and expand current territories.
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets at expected margins.
- Interface with customers and ensure total client satisfaction through the life cycle of the relationship.
- Manage and participate in the development and implementation of strategic sales plans, marketing plans and forecasts to achieve corporate goals.
- Develop and recommend services and pricing strategies to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
- Establish and maintain relationships within the proper ecosystems.
- Ensure effective management of sales information and opportunities within ConnectWise.
- Develop and standardize procedures and methods to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of prospecting, on-boarding, training and sales development.
- Work closely with New Era’s teams to demonstrate the business case for the company, facilitate information gathering and match that to the prospect’s needs through multiple in-person meetings and discussions.
- Deal with complex negotiations through a multi-constituent sales process for large customers.
- Prepare budgets and approve expenditures.
- Analyze sales data and recommend changes or improvements for better customer satisfaction and increased revenue.
COMPETENCY:
- Ability to inspire and motivate others, work with multiple groups, including remote teams, and build strong personal networks.
- Ability to create strategies to differentiate our value.
- Analyze, interpret, summarize, and present information and data in an effective manner.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, ConnectWise.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing or Business preferred.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.
- 5 years’ experience managing sales teams w/ at least some experience managing Inside Sales teams.
- 7 years’ experience in technology sales.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 10 years’ experience in technology sales, Managed Services, Unified Collaboration, and cybersecurity sales a plus and experience directly leading sales teams that sell service-based solutions.
TRAVEL: 25-40%
