Role: Account Director

Location:  London, England, United Kingdom (hybrid working from our London offices 3 days a week)
 

About the role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Account Director who has extensive experience working in creative agencies with teams of creatives and client services to work across a FMCG service brand. 

Your time will be split across two divisions of the business with a focus on baby care and female care. You will be responsible for the day to day running of both work streams. Ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and on budget, pushing the teams to deliver the best in class work, ensuring quality control across the studios and building positive client perceptions through timely and clear communication between clients and the design team. 

The account is busy and will require somebody with lots of energy, a can-do attitude, ability to manage many different work streams at any one time and have a hands-on approach to get the job done.   

You will be partnering with a creative team who will support you in delivery and creative excellence.  

The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills across all levels of business and proven experience of managing teams and conflicting projects and priorities.  

This will be a high-profile AD role, and you will be liaising and dealing directly with senior clients and managing teams of people.   

What you will be doing:

  • Client Relationship :
  • Developing and growing a credible and productive relationship with clients  
  • Strong and confident escalation point for key clients on day to day account and team concerns 
  • Represent the agency in a professional manner in all Client contact 
  • Understand the Client’s marketplace 
  • Account Management :
  • Line management responsibility for Account Managers and Creatives – up to 5 direct reports.  
  • Smooth running and managing the operational delivery of the accounts 
  • Supporting in team resourcing and time management  
  • Proactive management of timelines and budgets  
  • Producing of MI and financial reports for both accounts 
  • Solid and consistent upward reporting and escalation to Group Account Director 
  • Helping identify, develop and drive new opportunities on the account.  
  • Running strategic and creative oos scope projects 
  • Ensuring team productivity is optimised in the most effective way  
  • Improve key departmental processes through continual monitoring and review, to increase productivity and improve customer service 
  • With the support of the GAD, drive forward the strategic vision for the accounts  

What you need to be great in this role:

  • Currently an Account Director in an integrated agency environment with a good understanding of the following attributes: 
             
    • Management experience 
    • Good business and financial acumen 
    • Appreciates great creative work and is able to judge it accordingly 
    • Good presentation skills (writing and delivering) 
    • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail 
    • Good time management, people and project management 
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues at various levels 
    • Organised, proactive team player 
    • Expresses ideas with clarity, confidence and logical reasoning 
    • Works proactively and independently, and as part of a team 
    • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritise workload 
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop strong and ultimately profitable relationships with clients  
    • Cool head under pressure with the ability to resolve problems 
    • Must be able to quickly and efficiently pre-empt problems, reschedule work depending on demand and availability  
    • Good negotiating and conflict resolution skills, tact and diplomacy  
    • At least 4/5 years marketing experience 
    • Experience on fast paced high deliverable accounts  
    • Experience working with blue chip clients 
    • Experience of working with a creative department and suppliers  
    • Experience in managing client relationships across all levels Experience in scoping, budgeting work
