Senior Account Executive - Uber

London

About the Role:

PHD, as part of Omnicom Media Group (OMG), have won the brand media business for a large tech client for which we need some amazing people to help service it.

We are recruiting for a Senior Account Executive, an integral part of the regional EMEA team based in London.

You will have three major areas of focus:

  • Working with PHD teams, both local and regional, to ensure excellent strategy, planning and activation delivery – particularly in their use of Omni, OMG’s proprietary marketing orchestration platform
  • Supporting the management of centralized digital budget for emerging markets, along with a central client
  • Developing a strong working relationship with the digital activation hub, driving process refinement in response to local market feedback

Key to success in this role will be some media planning or buying and client management experience, but also the following attributes:

  • Accountable: One team, one dream. Nothing is one person’s job, we need to be solutions oriented and we’re all in it together to deliver the best results.
  • Collaborative: Working with a variety of stakeholders across organizations and cultures to find the best solution, every time – even if you have to compromise.
  • Challenger: Not afraid to pluck up the courage to ask ‘why are we doing it this way?’
  • Digitally fluent: Understands the importance of digital in the media ecosystem.

This client team is not alone at the agency – there are dozens of other people working in a similar capacity at PHD Global! Everyone on these teams work on multi-market, international accounts. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside leading media strategists and planners, helping our new client achieve its impressive brand growth goals.  PHD is known for its integrated, innovative strategy and planning work, and we want you to be a part of it.

About the client you will work on:

While this team is focused on supporting 4 key markets plus 10+ emerging markets in EMEA, it’s part of a larger global team servicing the same client in North America and LATAM. The client has ambitious growth goals and expects its agency partner to move as quickly as they do. You’ll certainly learn a lot about the category and how to work in a complex business that has significant local nuance, but as with most global brands, a desire for consistency across borders.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Support Director and team to develop the client relationship and be recognised by clients as a valuable member of the account team
  • Deliver high quality output both internally and externally with rigorous attention to detail
  • Ensure flawless strategy, planning, and activation for the “emerging markets” campaigns
  • Gain familiarity with Omni, OMG’s proprietary marketing orchestration platform, specifically in the media planning app Studio and the tactical workflow tool Planit – supporting local markets’ with their use as well
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the digital activation hub, driving process refinement in response to local market feedback
  • Support the director in the tri-annual client satisfaction survey and subsequent action plans with local markets
  • Deliver precise financial management and administration
  • Own your own development – actively seek to learn, both from PHD’s ongoing training and information sessions as well as external opportunities
  • Contribute to company-wide initiatives, such as our employee council, DE&I committee, strategy community, and more

About You:

  • Some work experience in media, ideally planning or buying
  • Basic understanding of media terminology and concepts, particularly digital
  • High energy and resilience
  • Have strong organizational skills, being able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (written and oral)
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work across teams for a common goal
  • Familiarity with the technologies and systems associated with digital media and data
  • Strong spoken and written English

About the Agency:

PHD is a growth-focused media agency driven by innovation and creativity.

Founded in London in 1990, we were the first media agency to offer strategic and creative planning at a time when the industry was about buying cheaply and quickly.

Our founders saw a bright future where smart thinking and clever planning could help brands grow faster than their competitors.

Over the many years that have followed, we have continued to build on this defining ethic — with our evolution shaped by a continual investment in thought leadership. And we continue to ensure that our capability and approach evolve in line with changes in media, data, technology, commerce, society, and legislation.

Today, with over 100 offices in 74 countries, we continue to create remarkable campaigns that lead to remarkable growth – using the extending canvas of data and technology.
