SUMMARY
The Accounts Payable Lead position requires a minimum of 7 years experience working in a fast paced, high volume supervisor level AP position. Ideally, the candidate will have work experience in medium to large sized companies. This position requires a high level of self reliance and the ability to work independently. Success in this position will require the candidate to have the ability to focus on the fine details of tasks, and have the ability to detect errors emanating from any touch point in the accounts payable cycle. Must be familiar with various forms of payment; ACH, Wires, Checks, Credit Cards, Out Sourced and be familiar with large volume upload files. Other required attributes, must possess an understanding of accounting principals, demonstrate computer proficiency and must be able to use Excel at the intermediate level. Duties and responsibilities for this position will increase as the management team gains confidence in the Accounts Payable Lead abilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily involvement in the coding and data entry of hard copy and electronic invoices
- Respond to the needs of internal and external customer inquiries in a professional manner
- Provide routine visibility updates to the Accounts Payable Management Team
- Assist in the implementation of procedural and process changes
- Aid in special projects as required
- Run a series of daily, weekly and monthly information reports, some will be reported to the business and will require follow up actions
- Submit a weekly cash requirement, within budget directly to the department manager
- Process bank wire transfers and ACH files
- Resolve all bank related returns and discrepancies
- Submit daily positive pay file and resolve positive pay file variations
- Ensure that manual electronic payments are recorded
- Work closely with Treasury to determine the correct bank account(s) to use for disbursements
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to resolve open invoices, including vendor level issues, vendor payment method, ledger coding and appropriate approvals
- Handle vendor inquiries and requests in a friendly professional manner.
- Reconcile payment selections prior to disbursement processing
- Computer literacy, the ability to use a wide range of system software, Excel at the intermediate level
- Display the ability to focus attention on detail
- Time management skills are essential
- Work in a high volume fast paced environment
- Display confidentiality when dealing with sensitive material and executive employees
- Ability to fit into a multi cultural diverse team
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires the normal demands of any job, such as sitting, standing, reaching with arms and hands, walking, talking and hearing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Perry’s Accounts Payable department is located in an area that has an open floor concept. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can become elevated for short periods of time.
