Duties: |
Responsible for playing a critical role in driving the success of our vehicle interior systems, leveraging technical expertise, engineering acumen, and collaborative spirit to develop world-class interior systems that exceed industry standards; lead the design and development of interior components and related structures using advanced tools like CATIA V5; responsible for the entire Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC), from concept to production, ensuring seamless integration of all design elements; ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, including NHSTA/FMVSS requirements, while maintaining focus on quality and innovation; collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners to deliver projects on time and within budget; utilize Teamcenter, CATIA, GD&T, DFMEA, Fit and Finish, CAE validation, Minitab, and PPAP to perform duties; use tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone to identify and root cause issues proactively; develop and execute DFMEA and PFMEA processes, design and production validation (DV/PV) plans, and control plans to ensure product performance and reliability; lead Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM); responsible for supplier quality assurance processes, including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and audits, to maintain high-quality standards; and leverage tools like Minitab to analyze performance data and implement improvements.
Location: Troy, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US;
Salary: $115,000 per year; |
Minimum Qualifications: |
Education: Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience: Three (3) years in the position above, as a Development Engineer, as a Mechanical Engineer, as a Product Engineer, as a Project Engineer, or in a related occupation;
Other Requirements: Experience must include one (1) year’s use of all the following: Teamcenter, CATIA, GD&T, DFMEA, Fit and Finish, CAE validation, Minitab, and PPAP.
Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience.
