ABOUT THE ROLE
Techno is seeking an Office Engineer to support construction operations on transportation infrastructure projects within the Hudson Valley region. This position plays a central role in maintaining project documentation, supporting field teams, and ensuring contract administration processes run efficiently.
Working closely with the Resident Engineer and project staff, you will help manage the flow of information between the field and office, track project progress, and maintain accurate records throughout the construction lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in public agency project environments.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Maintain and organize all project documentation including correspondence, reports, and contract records
- Track quantities, payments, and contractor submissions to support progress estimates
- Assist with preparation and processing of change orders, RFIs, and contract modifications
- Manage submittals, shop drawings, and document control workflows
- Support scheduling updates and monitor project milestones and deliverables
- Coordinate communication between field staff, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with project procedures, documentation standards, and reporting requirements
- Utilize digital systems for tracking, reporting, and recordkeeping
- Assist with project closeout documentation and final records compilation
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; or NICET certification.

3–7 years of experience in construction administration, office engineering, or project coordination

Experience supporting transportation or public infrastructure projects

Familiarity with contract documentation, change management, and payment tracking

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Experience with SiteManager or similar construction management systems preferred.

Prior experience working on New York State Department of Transportation (Region 8) projects highly beneficial.

EIT certification is a plus

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is $50 - $65 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
