Data Engineer
The Swift Group is looking for a Data Engineer who is passionate about automation, deployment, and configuration management. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in scripting, software packaging, and system automation to support cutting-edge data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning initiatives.
The location of this job is Reston, VA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automate software development and deployment processes
- Troubleshoot issues in development environments across Windows, Linux, and OSX
- Manage internal development tooling, including Artifactory and Conda package repositories
- Proficiency in Python programming and familiarity with its data science libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn)
- Creating environments to analyze large datasets using Python and other relevant tools in the Anaconda ecosystem
- Python Version Management, Building Environment Management and creating robust dependency management using Conda Package Manager
- Experience in implementing Anaconda's open-source data science tools and libraries
- Develop and manage build, release, and packaging workflows
- Create diverse, well-structured python code samples
- Resolving git and GitHub-related issues on open-source projects
- Diagnosing and fixing merge conflicts, branching problems, and repository errors
- Reviewing and implementing pull requests to address codebase issues and Implementing bug fixes
Required Qualifications:
- BS Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong coding skills in Python, Scripting and automation
- Experience with Anaconda package manager and libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn)
- Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
- Deep understanding of software development principles and design patterns
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working with Mobile Device Management (MDM) or other asset/configuration management systems
- Python, Shell scripting, and PowerShell experience
- Experience working with open-source, AI, or data science projects
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred), Terraform, and CI/CD automation

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00

Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
