Technical Program Manager

United States
  • Experienced Technical Program Manager with strong Agile/DevOps knowledge, CI/CD familiarity, and the ability to turn complex engineering work into clear plans, roadmaps, and scalable processes.
  • Operational leader who drives clarity, alignment, and predictable delivery—surfacing risks early, improving workflows, strengthening communication, and enabling high-velocity execution.
  • Remote-first opportunity for US-based employees with the option to work in-person out of our Manhattan office.

Start your adventure with Zip

We are seeking a Technical Program Manager, Engineering Operations to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Zip’s continuous engineering delivery lifecycle. You will partner closely with Engineering and Product leaders to bring structure, clarity, and predictability to how we plan, sequence, and deliver software. As the operational backbone of the engineering organization, you’ll ensure priorities are aligned, dependencies are surfaced early, and communication flows seamlessly across teams.

This is an engineering-operations role—not a product role—focused on the processes, planning rhythms, and cross-team coordination that enable high-velocity delivery. You’ll run continuous planning cycles, coordinate releases, mature our planning frameworks, and ensure roadmaps reflect real capacity and realistic timelines. Success requires simplifying complexity, navigating ambiguity, and acting as the connective layer across teams. You’ll also leverage AI tools to automate reporting, streamline communication, and reduce operational overhead so engineers can stay focused on building and shipping.

Interesting problems you’ll get to solve

  • Build the operational frameworks that power Zip’s continuous engineering planning, improving how teams prioritize, sequence, and deliver work.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment by turning ambiguous, complex technical initiatives into clear plans with realistic timelines and visible dependencies.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery rhythm—roadmaps, quarterly alignment, sprint structures, and release coordination—to ensure engineering operates with predictable velocity.
  • Create visibility into risks, blockers, and tradeoffs, enabling faster, higher-quality decision-making across Engineering and Product.
  • Design scalable processes that increase team efficiency, reduce friction, and help engineering teams stay focused on building.
  • Streamline communication channels and reporting flows so leaders always have an accurate picture of progress and capacity.
  • Implement continuous improvement loops that refine how we plan, deliver, and measure engineering work over time.
  • Leverage AI to automate repetitive program tasks, accelerate insights, and minimize manual overhead across planning cycles.
  • Coordinate complex, multi-team engineering initiatives where success depends on clear sequencing, tight execution discipline, and proactive risk management.
  • Evolve Zip’s engineering operating model as we scale—shaping the processes, tools, and rituals that support a growing, high-performing engineering organization.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • 8+ years of experience in Technical Program Management or Engineering Operations within a software engineering or technology-driven organization.
  • Proven ability to run complex engineering planning cycles (roadmapping, quarterly alignment planning, sprint structures, release coordination) and drive predictable execution across multiple teams.
  • Deep familiarity with Agile and DevOps delivery practices, including CI/CD pipelines, release workflows, and cross-team dependency management.
  • Hands-on experience with engineering delivery tooling, such as Jira, GitHub, CI/CD systems, and reporting or analytics tools.
  • Demonstrated success building scalable program frameworks that improve engineering velocity, alignment, and delivery quality.
  • Strong systems-thinking approach, capable of simplifying complex technical initiatives into clear, structured plans and repeatable processes.
  • Experience managing multi-team technical programs with multiple dependencies, risks, and workflows across engineering and product stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, high-growth environments, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and bring clarity to evolving problems.
  • Ability to use AI tools to automate reporting, summarize program health, reduce manual operational work, and improve overall execution efficiency.
  • (Bonus) Experience in fintech or regulated environments, with awareness of compliance and audit-ready delivery practices.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
