As the Global Insights Director, Core Brands and Innovation on the Global Strategy & Insights team at ABI, you will help drive category, consumer and business insights for our core brands and innovation agenda. Specifically, you will have the ownership of working together with the key core brands across the world to understand their current performance, opportunities and helping them build stronger results. Additionally, you will also be responsible to work with the global innovation team to support them on specific projects across different innovation platforms that are being developed. You have a strong understanding of how to unpack the consumer needs, the underlying insights to support brand and innovation growth. You have strong exposure of working with big brands, identifying core consumer audience, their passion points, needs, triggers and barriers to support brand growth through innovation, renovation, positioning and execution pillars. You have a strong understanding of foundational insights tools across pillars including positioning, communications, creative development, innovation, renovation, brand tracking, brand analytics and performance measurement. You manage a challenging workload by balancing future operational and strategic needs. You have a bias for action.

 

To succeed in this role, you'll operate with an agile mindset, looking for pragmatic and effective ways -sometimes developing new-to-world approaches or methodologies, or adapting existent ones- to answer pressing business questions. You must be comfortable working with different kinds of datasets, managing vendors and internal data & analytics providers, guiding work of others, and interacting with senior leadership on complex problems.

 

Responsibilities for the role include: 

  • Own and champion ABI’s superiority framework. An internal framework to build consistently superior brands that drive meaning differentiation versus competition. Be the guardian of the framework, continuously evolve the framework and implement it to all core brands across the world.
  • Co-work with global Core brand team and local core brand teams to renovate key core brands to improve their performance and close identified gaps across product, positioning, communication, package, and execution.
  • Understand, analyze core brand performance on a quarterly basis through a robust performance measurement approach to identify what is working, opportunities.
  • Owner of the renovation methodology globally, continuously upgrade tools, work with vendors to monitor and upgrade the burden of proof, train teams across the world to drive adoption.
  • Partner with innovation team to build the future 3-5 Year innovation pipeline that are truly consumer driven and need front end development within the prioritized innovation platforms.
  • Monitor competition moves to identify themes across innovation, renovation, marketing activities to better inform ABI strategy and brand plans.
  • Manage change in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where priorities are shifting.

  • 10-15+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong business acumen with Analytical/Problem Solving mindset
  • Persuasive Communication and Thought Leadership
  • Strong proven capability of working with senior stakeholders who manage multi-billion dollar brands to influence them being the voice of the consumer
  • Experience and proven expertise on insights tools across performance management, brand tracking, communication, innovation, renovation, positioning development
  • Ability to unpack the underlying needs of the consumer to come up with fundamental consumer truths that can shape innovation pipeline and support core brand renovations.
  • Results and teamwork oriented with good planning & organization skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with the ability to manage and prioritize between a diverse array of tasks on tight timelines

Pay Transparency:

Work Location: New York, NY (onsite)

Salary: $204,000-$240,000

(Please note that the salary details listed in role postings reflect the base salary only, not total compensation, which includes bonus and benefits.)
