The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

LA28, the organizers for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, is on a mission to create an unparalleled Games experience for athletes, fans, partners, our community and our people. Our vision is to collectively create what’s next through sport, community and the power of our differences.

The 2028 Olympics and Paralympics will represent LA and leverage the strength of our community’s diversity and creativity as we collectively work to design a Games that we all want to be a part of. We do this by focusing on people and by inviting everyone into the story of the LA28 Games.

The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

 

Intern, Partnership Sales & Games Delivery Revenue:

The 2025 LA28 Internship Program gives current and recent undergraduate students the opportunity to contribute hands-on, meaningful work to crucial planning stages for the 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games. Interns will be placed in a specific functional area, directly supporting the day-to-day work and long-term projects of the team. In addition, interns will participate in unique roundtables, community service, and research projects as a cohort to deepen understanding of the organization, our mission, and key skillsets to pursue a future field of their choice. This is a paid, 10-week, 30-hour-a-week program, in person at our Los Angeles Headquarters. 

The Games Delivery Revenue team oversees the Ticketing, Hospitality, Accommodations and Food & Beverage departmentsThis department is responsible for securing key revenue streams for LA28, ensuring sold out and fully attended events, creating a robust and integrated accommodations strategy that supports our key stakeholders and operational needs, and delivering a comprehensive food and beverage plan for fans, stakeholders, the world’s press and broadcasters, workforce, and athletes 

The Partnership Sales team is responsible for selling high value, unique sponsorship rights and benefits to best-in-class companies to support the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement from now through the LA28 Games. In a joint effort between USOPC and LA28 (US Olympic and Paralympic Properties), NBCUniversal and our sales agent Legends, we sell one of the most powerful opportunities in sports. Through our first-of-its-kind offering, our partners can participate in all aspects of the Movement with access to Team USA and LA28 intellectual property rights, product marketing, local activation and NBCUniversal’s comprehensive, multi-screen coverage of the Games for the next three years. 

Overall, the following functional areas (FAs) in the revenue-generating space are seeking a summer intern: Partnership Sales, Food & Beverage, and Hospitality.

Functional Areas & Job Responsibilities:

The Partnership and Games Delivery Revenue teams are looking for an intern in each of the following areas: Partnership Sales, Food & Beverage, and Hospitality. If you are interested in multiple areas, we kindly request applicants to rank their choices and provide explanation within their application. 

Interns on the Revenue team are driven, articulate, organized, detail-oriented, creative and exhibit strong interpersonal skills. Applicants will be considered for all FAs listed but will be selected based on relevant experiences and skillsets.

Partnership Sales: Our team drives revenue for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement by securing high-value sponsorships with top companies. We offer an unprecedented opportunity for brands to engage with Team USA, LA28, and NBC's multi-platform coverage throughout the journey through LA28. 

Key Responsibilities:

    • Execute corporate research on individual companies and industry categories to stimulate lead/prospect development 
    • Work on the development of partnership proposals that reflect a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, ensuring alignment with LA28 and USOPP's organizational values.
    • Conduct research to identify potential partners from underrepresented industries, communities, or organizations, contributing to a more inclusive portfolio of partnerships. 

 

Food & Beverage:  The Food & Beverage FA is responsible for the creation, planning, and execution of the food and beverage strategy for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. We oversee the food and beverage partnerships at all Olympic and Paralympic competition and non-competition venues throughout Los Angeles and surrounding cities, including Athlete’s Village. We are responsible for managing the Game’s 9-figure food and beverage budget and delivering millions of meals to fans, athletes, workforce, and other constituencies over the course of the Games. We seek to develop a food and beverage strategy that is both reflective and inclusive of Los Angeles’ diverse communities and peoples. 

Key Responsibilities:

    • Aid in creation of operating budget for Games venues that will guide decision making on service levels, price points, F&B offerings, etc. 
    • Engage in community outreach and research that will inform strategy to integrate local small business into F&B procurement and operations strategies.
    • Conduct research to inform menu creation for Athletes Village that informs cultural culinary expectations and parameters for various day parts. 

 

Hospitality:  The LA28 Commercial Hospitality team is leading a think-different approach to modernizing the Olympic and Paralympic hospitality experience for stakeholders and fans through unparalleled access to VIP, once-in-a-lifetime packages. In partnership with On Location, LA28’s Official Hospitality Provider, the Commercial Hospitality team is responsible for creating a robust and integrated commercial hospitality strategy that supports our key stakeholders and operational needs while securing a key revenue stream for LA28. 

Key Responsibilities: 

    • Assist with go-to-market communications and Hospitality sales phasing plans.
    • Support Hospitality marketing asset development.
    • Assist with commercial rights approvals as they pertain to Hospitality marketing assets.
    • Create presentations, tracking documents and other work product as needed

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work in a mainly in-person environment, 4-5 days in our Los Angeles office
  • Must be able to work the full 10 week duration of the internship from June 16 – August 22, 30 hours a week
  • This role requires extended periods of computer use and virtual collaboration.
  • Occasional travel to venue sites or external events may be required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • May need to work some non-traditional work hours for specific events, such as evenings or weekends (will be communicated well in advance)
  • May require lifting and transporting materials, such as documents, technology equipment, or event-related supplies (up to 25 lbs).  

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in progress or recent graduate (graduation date December 2024 or later)
    • For the Food & Beverage team, a culinary degree in progress is also acceptable
  • Relevant coursework in business, marketing or communications preferred

Interns can expect an hourly rate of $18.00 per hour and will be scheduled to work a 30-hour week. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28-USOPP reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28-USOPP compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28-USOPP's operational business needs and applicable law.
