About the role:
What you will be doing:
- Lead strategic output across paid and organic social, e commerce and data driven marketing (Precision, PRM, Performance).
- Translate qualitative and quantitative research into compelling insights and creative briefs.
- Partner with discipline leads to identify growth opportunities and convert them into client initiatives, propositions and thought leadership.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with the client's stakeholders; shape and communicate the evolving role of strategy in their transformation.
- Raise the bar for strategic thinking and creative excellence across the studio.
- Ensure brand, digital and social strategies are understood and activated at market level across global operations.
- Uncover cultural and behavioral insights that create competitive advantage.
- Spot strategic and commercial opportunity in every brief and drive innovation in team structure, content delivery and campaign models.
- Drive development and adoption of AI capabilities across the strategy team while safeguarding strategic rigor and creative craft.
- A proven track record in strategic planning within creative/agency environments, with strong evidence of brand growth and creative excellence
- Strategic and commercial expertise that connects insight to business outcomes and measurable brand impact
- Deep understanding of digital and social ecosystems, including platform dynamics, content strategies, and performance marketing
- Expertise in social and digital strategy across paid/organic social, e-commerce, and data-driven marketing channels
- The ability to simplify complexity—unpicking challenging problems and transforming them into clear, compelling strategies and ideas
- A talent for stakeholder management across all organizational levels, building trusted client relationships and influencing senior marketing leaders
- Research capabilities and insight craft—the ability to synthesize data, culture, and consumer understanding into actionable creative direction
- Leadership skills that educate, nurture, and inspire teams and clients alike
- A passion for digital and social creativity with an eye for culturally relevant, breakthrough work
- Strategic integration of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, cultural intelligence platforms, social listening AI, consumer insight tools) to enhance research efficiency and insight quality
- Agentic leadership: systematic approach to complex strategic challenges, breaking down multi-brand, North Americas programs into clear strategic frameworks
- Experience using AI to accelerate research synthesis, trend identification, and insight generation while maintaining strategic rigor
- Understanding of AI's role in creative strategy development, with ability to guide responsible implementation that enhances rather than replaces human creativity
- Advanced agentic thinking for strategic planning: identifying optimal approaches to brand challenges and executing with clear strategic reasoning
- Ability to drive AI capability development across strategy teams while maintaining the craft of insight and creative briefing excellence
What you need to be great in this role:
- 8+ years in strategic planning roles within creative or digital agency environments
- 5+ years working at Director level with direct client leadership and team mentorship responsibilities
- Hands-on experience with FMCG clients or similar large-scale, multi-market accounts (strongly preferred)
- Experience across social, digital, and integrated campaign strategy
- Track record of developing strategies that have driven measurable brand and business growth
- International or multi-market strategic experience (preferred)
- At the time of this posting, the base salary for this position may range from $148,750.00 to $166,250.00. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. The range listed is just one component of OLIVER’s total compensation package.
