Registered Nurse - Full-Time
Position Title: Registered Nurse
Compensation based on years of experience : $26.40 - 37.00 an hour
Position Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) is an essential member of the healthcare team, providing comprehensive patient care and ensuring optimal outcomes. An RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, assesses and monitors patient conditions, and implements care plans to promote health and healing. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in WCC Mission, Vision and Values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments.
- Administer medications as directed by a physician.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and EKGs.
- Explain treatment procedures, medications, and physicians' instructions to patients.
- Ensure that all equipment is sterilized and maintain a clean working environment.
- Maintain awareness and compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Ensure examination rooms are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Order medical and office supplies as needed.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Valid state RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and possibly Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, depending on the care setting.
- Strong clinical, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle stress and adapt to changing environments.
- Dedication to patient care and a commitment to ethical medical practices.
Work Environment/Physical Demands/Conditions:
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
- The employee is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
- Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
- Ability to handle and administer medications, vaccinations and immunizations as needed.
