What You'll Do
We are seeking a motivated Shopify Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the company's multiple Shopify Plus e-commerce websites.  The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of web development best practices and experience, while understanding the importance of a good user experience.

 

  • Partner with the Development team to maintain and optimize multiple shopify themes
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
  • Assist with Shopify admin management for creating products and collections, maintaining and updating site content such as the home page, custom landing pages, and navigation updates, and managing Shopify Apps
  • Work with external vendors to assist in integrating new features to the sites
  • Work with designers and content creators to ensure website aesthetics and content are in line with company standards
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new website features
  • Optimize the website for maximum speed and scalability
  • Ensure compatibility with various browsers and devices
  • Work cross functionally with the Planning and Marketing teams to ensure that all website are up to date for current product launches



Potential Areas to Grow into:

  • Develop internal automation applications to improve workflow and reduce busy work.
  • Improve site reliability with testing, monitoring, and automation tasks.
  • Work with portfolio of brands to improve sites across all brands
  • Develop new themes and applications to improve onboarding of new brands
  • Analyzing traffic to inform website maintenance and the effectiveness of marketing strategies and site optimizations
  • Continuously research, test and propose new Shopify apps or site features to improve revenue or efficiency based on data/metrics
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies
  • Mentor junior developers and help improve their skill set



Must Haves

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of web development best practices and experience working on a small tech team with many cross functional department leads.

 

  • Minimum of 4 years of Shopify development experience (HTML, CSS, Liquid)
  • Strong understanding of Shopify Plus, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
  • Working Understanding of JS frameworks, such as Vue, React, Hydrogen 
  • Knowledge of responsive web design and development
  • Comfortable using Visual Studio Code or a similar app
  • Experience using a Package Manager ( Webpack, Yarn, npm)
  • Process oriented and able to multitask
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working with a hybrid/remote team



Nice to Haves:

An ideal candidate would also have some experience in the following areas.

  • Experience with deployment and ecommerce tech life cycle
  • Created shopify apps (public or private) in the past
  • 6+ years of experience with a JavaScript Framework, preferably Vue
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field (preferred)
  • Experience configuring and integrating e-commerce systems end to end
  • An understanding of UX concepts and ways to improve user experience 
  • Can write clean and efficient code and review and audit team members code
    A quick thinker and a strong communicator
  • Not afraid to step outside of your comfort zone, can tackle projects independently
  • Know when to lean on your team, and when to step up
  • Strong understanding of various Ecommerce tools, such as Google Analytics, Attentive, etc

Primary Location Salary

$125,000 - $140,000
