Cloud Native’s mission is to transform how Boxers build services, enabling them to deliver exceptional products. We provide a unified platform for configuring, deploying, and running Box services seamlessly, securely, reliably, and efficiently across optimal regions worldwide. The organization consists of three teams: two in California and one in Warsaw. The team in Poland focuses on enhancing the Platform Developer Experience. Our goal is to empower every developer to reach their highest potential by creating a delightful and straight-forward user experience and hiding the complexity of the cloud solutions.

We are currently working on developing a new system to replace the existing service configuration system. This new system aims to simplify GCP deployment by abstracting away Kubernetes internals from users.

What you'll do:

  • Develop a comprehensive service configuration system in TypeScript, built on top of cdk8s
  • Patch security vulnerabilities by upgrading libraries used in our services to meet strict FedRamp requirements
  • Develop and maintain automation tools for deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters
  • Proactively and continuously improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of our Kubernetes infrastructure
  • Work closely with developers to ensure that their applications are properly deployed and configured in Kubernetes
  • Play a role in developing and fostering Box culture in the newly opened Warsaw office.
  • Participate in the production on-call duties rotation with team members

Who you are: 

  • You have hands-on experience designing and building cloud-native architecture on platforms such as GCP or AWS.
  • You possess strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, software design principles, and object-oriented programming.
  • You have experience architecting, designing, operationalizing container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • You are experience with Service Mesh technologies such as Istio or any other Envoy based Service Meshes.
  • You have experience managing and deploying IaC via Terraform
  • You have a proven track record of building tooling, automation, and/or services in one or multiple programming languages (e.g., Go, TypeScript, Python, Java, Groovy)
  • You have a good understanding of Linux systems and networking fundamentals
  • You are a technical expert who can provide guidance on best practices, coding standards, and complex technical issues, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
  • You actively engage in feedback processes, contribute to code reviews, and play a role in enhancing team processes and practices.
  • You must speak English proficiently
