We currently have a need for a BIM/Document Control Manager to oversee the planning, design, delivery, and efficient management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) for building and maintenance drawings using REVIT. The BIM Manager will also be responsible for implementing best practices in model management, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in BIM management and will also lead a team of document control specialists, ensuring that all documents are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible to relevant stakeholders. This role is critical for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of documentation processes.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the creation, management, and updating of BIM models, ensuring they contain accurate 3D visualizations, data, drawings, and schedules associated with the design and construction phases of projects
- Organize and coordinate each phase of the BIM process, working closely with professionals involved in the BIM process, including architecture, structure, and MEP disciplines
- Manage interferences between BIM models of different disciplines and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
- Provide training and support to team members on BIM processes and systems
- Generate and distribute reports on BIM model status and updates as required
- Lead and manage a team of document control specialists, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Oversee the maintenance and updating of building and maintenance drawings, ensuring all documents are accurate and up-to-date.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with engineering, construction, and maintenance teams to gather and update necessary documentation.
- Ensure that all documents are easily accessible to relevant stakeholders, both digitally and physically.
- Develop and maintain archiving procedures to ensure documents are secure and retrievable when needed.
- Generate and distribute reports on document status and updates as required.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of document control activities and BIM activities
Skills required:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in BIM management and document control, with at least 2 years in a leadership role, preferably in the construction or engineering industry
- Proficiency in REVIT and other BIM software.
- Proficiency in ACC for file management.
- Familiarity with building and maintenance drawings and related documentation standards
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Experience with AutoCAD and REVIT or similar design software.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for BIM.
- This position may require occasional travel to project sites.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
Physical Demands:
- Regular use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Regular, repetitive movements such as typing, mouse movements, and scrolling. Ability to hear and understand spoken communications, both in person and via remote communication tools (e.g., phone, video conferencing).
- Ability to see and read computer screens and printed documents, as well as adjust focus. This includes prolonged periods of looking at a computer screen.
This is a US based remote position paying an annual salary range of $110,000 to $118,000.
