Alli is PMG’s cloud-based platform of applications built for digital marketers. Its functionality ranges from fundamental level ad campaign management to an AI-powered creative insight explorer. In 2022, Alli enabled ad delivery to over 0.5 billion consumers in 80+ countries for some of the world’s most iconic brands, including Apple, Nike, and McDonald’s.
We are looking for a talented individual to fill our Senior Manager, AI & Software Engineering role focused in our Data pillar of the Alli platform. This team builds and manages complex data pipelines with partners like Google, Meta, Amazon and other reporting platforms and large data sharing APIs. It uses automation to supply business critical data, with a high level of accuracy, to the other pillars of the Alli platform and the entire company. The team achieves this by working regularly and directly with technologies like Terraform, Docker, BigQuery, Snowflake, Postgres, Redis, MongoDB, React, Kinesis, REST and SOAP APIs, etc.
We are looking for Engineering Managers who have lead teams like this and have experience demonstrating the following skills and traits:
- A profound understanding of distributed system design principles
- SOLID software engineering expertise (OOA/OOD, TDD, CI/CD)
- Strong adherence to and experience implementing agile values
- Planning and guiding towards a multi-year product roadmap
- Ability to continually motivate and inspire team productivity and success
- Team-first, proactive approach to work and excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
- Implement new and effectively manage numerous data integrations via API and other common methods
- Participate in formulation and implementation of the Data pillar roadmap
- Work with the product management team to create industry transformative products
- Build complex & highly scalable technical solutions
- Drive cutting edge initiatives with a high industry-wide impact
- Draft architectural decisions and ensure reliable and state-of-the-art products and systems
- Build with a world-class team of engineers, collaborate with designers and product managers to ship new components and features
- Contribute to code reviews; provide critical feedback to fellow developers and mentor junior engineers
- Provide career development guidance and coaching to team members
- Work in a team with flat hierarchies and short decision-making processes
- Work within a dynamic & international environment with an agile working culture using methodologies such as SCRUM
Skills & Experience
- 6+ years experience working in a software engineering development team, working throughout the SDLC of a product
- 4+ years managing a team of 5-10 highly skilled developers in a SCRUM style, agile development process
- 3+ years of experience working with the MERN stack or transferable skill set
- 3+ years of experience within an AWS cloud environment, utilizing Redshift or Postgres or similar technologies
- Experience in building and managing teams building systems using automated testing, code review, clean code principles, and refactoring strategies
- Solid knowledge of building and using RESTful APIs
Preferred, but not required
- Hands-on experience, or working interest in GenAI, Large Language Models, Big Data, OpenAI, Gemini, Bedrock, etc.
- Interest or familiarity working in the Digital Marketing industry
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef or Puppet
- Experience with Docker or Kubernetes and can safely maneuver/setup configurations in those environments
- Experienced with DDD
- Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
