What You’ll Do
The Director, Business Development will be responsible for aggressively driving business development initiatives across our Lifestyle & Entertainment portfolio. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to identify and execute high-impact growth opportunities. This candidate will work closely with the India Leadership Team, Brand Management, and Marketing teams to drive a cohesive approach to business development, ensuring long-term brand and business success. The candidate must take full ownership of leading and closing deals, driving business expansion with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
What you’ll be working on
- Strategic Business Development: Drive business expansion by identifying, evaluating, and executing new business opportunities across lifestyle and entertainment categories.
- Market Expansion & Pipeline Development: Build a robust pipeline of new business deals, exploring untapped markets, category adjacencies, and emerging trends.
- CXO-Level Engagement: Establish and maintain strong relationships with CXOs and senior executives at potential partner organizations to unlock strategic opportunities.
- Consultative & Solution-Oriented Selling: Utilize a consultative sales approach to structure and negotiate high-value partnerships that drive mutual growth.
- Innovation & Blue Sky Thinking: Identify disruptive and out-of-the-box opportunities for business expansion, leveraging industry insights, consumer trends, and competitive intelligence.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including the Business Development team, Brand Management, and Marketing, to align strategies and maximize synergies across business verticals.
- Commercial Negotiation & Deal Structuring: Lead negotiations, structure partnerships, and oversee deal execution while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Executive Presence & Storytelling: Develop and deliver compelling presentations that clearly articulate the business case for new opportunities.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting: Establish key performance metrics and regularly assess business development initiatives to ensure alignment with overall growth objectives.

- Track and manage sales activities using CRM tools, ensuring accurate reporting and pipeline forecasting.
- Prepare detailed business performance reports, providing insights on market trends, licensing success, and areas of opportunity.
- Align closely with leadership to refine India’s business development strategy based on performance data and market feedback.

Must Haves
- 12+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within the consumer products, retail, entertainment, or related industries.
- Proven ability to develop and execute large-scale business development strategies.
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree from a leading institution.
- Strong network and ability to engage with senior executives (CXO level) to drive business opportunities.
- Prior experience in consulting firms with exposure to consumer goods, retail, or entertainment is a plus.
- Exceptional strategic selling and negotiation skills, with a strong understanding of deal structuring and execution.
- High level of executive presence, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and think creatively about business growth.
