WHY BOX NEEDS YOU
Box is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented self-starter to join the External Communications team as a PR specialist.
In this role, you’ll craft compelling stories about our company’s products and partnerships to increase brand awareness and elevate our presence in the marketplace.
Reporting to the Manager of Product and Partner Communications, you will play a critical role in driving external announcements and amplifying Box’s product vision. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, has strong relationships with traditional media, influencers, and non-traditional channels, and is passionate about the future of technology, including the AI-first enterprise.
As part of the Global Communications team, you will focus on showcasing innovation across Box’s core user products and partner ecosystem. The role requires strong writing skills and cross-functional collaboration, as you will work closely with the broader Communications team as well as Brand, Legal, and Executive Leadership.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

Craft and execute strategic communications plans for product and partner announcements. This includes creating press releases, blogs, video scripts, pitches, press decks, thought leadership posts for social, briefing documents, etc

Collaborate with Partner Sales, Business Development, and Product teams to develop and impactful messaging around Box’s technology vision and product roadmap

Identify and build new relationships with influencers and non-traditional media while maintaining relationships with existing contacts to support Box’s brand

Support the Manager of Product and Partner Communications in executing high-profile initiatives and campaigns with excellent project management skills

Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for Box to stand out

Support major company events such as BoxWorks and Content Cloud Summit

Ensure all communication is cohesive with the brand image

Track and analyze earned and owned media coverage to determine program results

Organize, schedule, and prepare key leaders for press interviews
WHO YOU ARE

Required Skills
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
-
3+ years of experience in public relations or corporate communications at an agency or in-house

Experience working directly with the media, including podcasts, newsletters, and other types of storytelling influencers

Excellent communication, writing, organizational and project management skills

Flexible - you have a demonstrated ability to prioritize and reprioritize tasks
