Retail Area Manager (JP)

  • The Japan Retail Area Manager’s primary focus will be to lead and manage the development of retail stores and activations in the Japan (East or West) region, building a highly motivated, success-driven team and productive work environment to support expansion of CASETiFY’s offline presence. This role is accountable for retail operations, development of retail teams, inventory compliance, visual merchandising and budgets. The Area Manager shall work closely with the Retail Manager and HQ business partners to set business objectives including financial targets, customer experience strategy, retention, payroll and operating expenses, loss prevention, and merchandise standards to ensure consistency and alignment with Company’s vision.

Business Performance Management

  • Execute on CASETiFY’s retail strategy by developing a regional-specific retail management plan
  • Monitor, analyze and report on sales performance, cost of inventory, operational expenses, inventory loss and profitability margin.
  • Consistently drive and motivate leadership and store teams to achieve and exceed individual sales goals and key retail store metrics.
  • Lead and communicate effectively with the sales team, responsible for team building, coaching, training and staff development;
  • Identify opportunities in product, sales, and team development and strategically present ideas.

Team Development

Lead team building, coaching, training and development modules of all retail teams to ensure sales objectives, staff are experts in product knowledge, provide exceptional customer service, and meet CASETiFY brand standards.

Operational Execution

  • Optimize and oversee retail operations to ensure sales and operational efficiency.
  • Partner closely with the global production and HQ to forecast inventory, seasonal/annual merchandising plans to ensure that all stores have the correct product assortment and product availability.
  • Review and implement standard operational procedures to maintain operational efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Oversee the internal/external team for sourcing, implementation, and troubleshooting of store software/IT tools with the global retail team.
  • Define, design and implement a creative visual merchandising strategy;
  • Create appealing and eye-catching visual displays that lead the customer through the entire store;
  • Support other retail operations, logistics and projects of the company

 

Requirement

  • 4+ years of experience in retail with at least 2 years in a management role. Preferably in fashion, watch, technology or accessories business.
  • Store-opening experience is a plus while multi-store management experience is a MUST;
  • Good understanding of retail market trends with a strong business acumen;
  • Experience in leading multiple teams
  • Passionate about the retail industry, technology, fashion, lifestyle brands, and being a part of a growing team
  • Great problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership, excellent interpersonal, customer service & communication skills
  • Fluent in both Japanese and English, excellent in verbal and written communication, presentation skills
